August 8th Napanee 3 gun match

Awesome shoot,

Great sponsors, thanks again to SFRC and One Shot Tactical for the prizes, I think there was one other sponsor too, but I can't remember

Got to meet a bunch of great guys and have a ton of fun shooting, great event :)

Now that was fun. That was really fun.

Thanks to SFRC, OneShot Tactical and S&J Hardware for providing the prizes. I have to say, everyone leaving with something is a great approach for, well, everyone to have a good time.

Many thanks to Napanee and District Rod and Gun for hosting the shoot, and to 6gm6 for organizing and running it.

And now, for the lessons learned portion of this post, in no particular order:

1- If your shotgun stock came with a specific Allen key, take it with you in case your stock gets loose;

2- S&B slugs. They're your friend. With a Knoxx SpecOps stock, BadBoyBeeson's own shotgun and even a Mossberg that needs the arms of a gorilla to cycle properly, the recoil is negligible. You could fire the damned things all day and only feel it in your wallet.

3- Ammo. Always brings lots. Bring more than you'll think you'll need. You never have too much ammo.

4- If you've got questions about the stage or procedures or anything like that, ASK THEM. Not clarifying some info cost me a few procedurals. But it's all good because I'll know for later.

5- Accuracy, accuracy, accuracy. In the words of many a practical shooter, you never miss fast enough to win.

6- For stages where moving and shooting are required... a rifle helps. A lot.

7- Breathe. Remember to damned breathe. You can't hit #### if you can't breathe.

And while I know I'm not winning this match by a long shot (haha, pun intended), I know I looked good doing it! :D

Again, great match, had a lot of fun, great bunch of guys. Thanks to all RSO's and sponsors who made it possible.

Very true all of it!!!
Pat i have some very good pics of you shooting, ill post soem when my photo girl gets them done.
One thing i did see alot, is some very pimped out shotguns but no one knows how to load them:eek:.
Out of all the shooters there were only 4 guys that really know how to load ther shotguns.
Shotguns are hard to load, ammo is big and fat.
Looks like we could all do with a bit more range time!!!

You can say that again - how about some practice drills before the Sept 12 match?

even a Mossberg that needs the arms of a gorilla to cycle properly,

Arms of a Gorilla eh?

Mossbergs are like women and Glocks hold em tight, stroke em right and they'll run all night. ;)

Maybe a course on shotgun techniques, with a 16 hour module on how to run a mossberg ;)

So that's what you're doing, you're letting the recoil rock you back... Mind you, weren't you shooting those Winchester 3-inch slugs instead of the milder S&B ones?

Thanks to everyone who turned out, the day went pretty well once the early kinks were ironed out (bandaged up). Notice the window frame in this pic. It only got worse from here on in, what part of "watch your angles and don't shoot the props" did everyone find difficult:bangHead:
It took a while to rake up the kindling off that stage.

Thanks for a good shoot and all your support to all the participants and SOs. You all made the day a great success for NDRGC.

Either that's one kickass photographer with a great camera, or someone loaded that round REALLY low and that was an average camera at best :D

Yep thats the bullet you can see, shes good at what she does, these are the unedited pics i have posted only 500 more to look at.
bbb

I am skeptical if that is a bullet or not.
I would tend to assume that it is a brass case and not a bullet.
The average shutter speed of the average camera would not be able to catch
a bullet in flight.
The object is even brass coloured, and seems too long to be a bullet.
I have taken hundreds of action shooting photo,s, and have many shots of brass and empty hulls being ejected from guns, including their smoky trails.
I have yet to capture a bullet exiting a muzzle.
but hey, i have been incorrect a couple of times in the past. (so i am told :)

Want thank all the guys from Napanee for putting on such a great match.Great bunch of guys, nice talking to you guys and putting a face to your CGN name. Also would like to thank sponsors for suppling such great prizes for the match.Anyone who did not come missed a great match.Looking forward to seeing you guys in the near future.
