Barnes TTSX

Yeppers that is the grand old flop that never should have done anything but soared: The .284 Winchester. Those are 1" grids, and the case length is .02" shorter than the Barnes manual states is max and OAL is 3.010". Load manuals are all OTL with this cartridge because it was introduced in the Modell 100 and 88 (fine rifles in .308). The case capacity is near identical to the .270 WCF (les than a gr of water difference I measured:D), all things being equal you should be able to get the same speed in same length barrels as in either with the same bullet weights with the same powder. So I used 270 WCF data with 140gr TSXs in my .284 and guess what, it worked:rolleyes:. That case was on its 5th loading and it was part of a 1.??" 300yd group latter. I think this is the cartridge that everyone missed the boat on.
