FWIW:
The Daniel Defense Omega rail is becoming very popular down here in the US.
It's a very slim and lightwieght free-float rail that is easy to install with just a hex key and a screwdriver. We have two of the midlength Omegas at our house. There is quite a bit of info on the Omegas at m4carbine . net and at least 2 reviews on the Brownell's site , if anyone would like more info.
Hope this helps.
I have two and couldn't be happier! They do not require the removal of your existing D-ring and FSB front sight but still provide a non-disrupted top rail should you choose to mount something between the upper rail and quad rail. Very vesatile.
