1000fps Pellet Rifle, which one do I buy guys??

Write a review....I'm too busy shooting the S410 right now :p

Seriously, I just bought it 2 days ago so and in the process of using up all the air in the tank so I can take it apart and clean a few parts mainly the spring guide to make sure there is no grease on it.

With the 10 shot clip pellets and air go fast but FUN FUN FUN! I've gone through 500, 1 tin of CP HP, in 3 days :p

The pic's are not mine but I have walnut stock version (Top one, way better looking then the regular beech) and a Tasco 6x24x42 scope on top right now.

As for a review... here is one that is bang one target:
AA S410 Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5

I agree that the CP pellets are the most accurate out of all the different brands I have... at 25 yards I can get 3 pellets in one hole straight out of the box and not even trying hard.

Cheers

PS... Not resposible for anyone spending the $$$'s on another air rifle especially a S410.

Nitrogen is ok as well... dry and stable. Been used in PCP and Paintball for a long time now. But the cost, size and weight of a fill tank  but you get alot more refills on the guns tank.

200 - 300 psi will get your pellet stuck 1/4 way down the barrel, not exactly sure on the numbers but 2000+psi. Remember, the air we breath is mainly N2.

The micro meter tank works like a Co2 tank. I can't remember the exact numbers on the MM tank but I beleive they're in the 700fps and lower range and that's with the 24" barrel, lower fps with the shorter barrels. My 12oz paintball Co2 tank spits out 14.3gr CP pellets at 630fps average and I get well over 100 shots.
Not sure on the cost of a AF MM tank but my 120z paintball tank cost me $30 with the butt plate. Down side to Co2 is it's temperature sensitive.

Can you post some pics of the tank set up? Did you need an adapter for the tank on the rifle? I just have the regular air tank on mine.

Are you refering to the 12oz Co2 tank beacuse I don't have nor use the other two sources?

12oz Co2 Tank and butt plate can be had from Wally World or any paintball store and the AF Co2 Adaptor can be bought from AirgunSource or Specialty Shooting. A larger tanks makes it very uncomfortable when looking throught the scope.

I have a Diana 34 .177 Pellet rifle, and it is a dandy. Graphs so close to 1000 fps that it is ridiculous. Kills well, and shoots some mighty fine groups. Several crows have been victims of it's power and accuracy. I can recommend this air rifle. Make sure your optics are up to the "guff" though, cause it will shake a cheap scope to pieces in short order. Regards, Eagleye.

Thanks for the pics. How many shots do you get with the 12oz tank? There's a velocity reduction with CO2 I've heard. Maybe not?

I have an AirForce Condor. It's absolutely deadly. As it is powered from a compressed air cylinder, there isn't any reverse recoil from a spring to tear apart a good scope.

It will fire pellets from a freshly charged cylinder over 1000 fps easily. The problem with pushing the pellets that fast is that they strip out on the riflling. There is very little bearing surface and pellets are usually cast from pure, soft lead so won't hold onto the lands.

Mine was super fussy about pellets as well. I finally settled on 15.8 grain "Diablo Exact", made in Czech Republic. They are hard to find, so when you do find them, by lots. I usually order them in ten tins of 250 at a time. They are cast with a bit of tin in them and require a little more force to upset in the lands but can easily be pushed at over 900 fps with excellent results.

I recharge my cylinder from a scuba tank. As the pressure drops in the air cylinder, so does the velocity of the pellets. That is one advantage of a springer over the tank supplied models.

As mentioned above, they are very loud, maybe even louder than a standard velocity 22rf.

If you order a Condor, becareful. They come in from the US and some of them will be equipped with a noise compensator. As they are deemed to be firearms in Canada the suppressor is illegal.

That's pretty much the gist of things with Condors. Anything else will just be a foible of the individual rifle. I personally give the rifle full approval. Beeman makes a scope mount for them as well.

Where did you get this info on stripping out the rifling???

Been on TAG for some time and NOBODY has complained about stripping out the rifling from owners pushing past 1000fps. C/P the info here please.

The talon SS is not available for sale in Canada but if you have a Condor and can get your hands on a 12" barrel then you got yourself a Condor SS.

Annother vote

Annother vote for the condor. It will push most .22 pellets supersonic so you might get some accuracy problems when they transition down range. Mine likes heavy Kodiaks at 21gns. Hit hard and stay sub sonic.

The Condor is VERY loud for an air gun.

Problem is once you make the initial investment for on PCP then you will want more. I wanted a repeater so ended up with a Theoben MFR. Now I want a PCP pistol!!

Never heard of "rifling being stripped out" before. That one smells alittle funny.

You guys read it wrong, it says that the pellet strips out ON the rifling, not the rifling it self.

Thanks nabiul. Yes, I realise the Talon is the suppressed version. When I contacted the fellows at Air Force about accuracy issues with pellets that were shooting well in other rifles, they informed me about the soft lead issue at high velocities and suggested the Daiblo Exact pellets. They were right and no problems since with high velocity shooting.

I use a Leupold 3x9 Compact that has had a reticle installed by "Premier" and is graduated for 900 fps trajectories. They did a great job but it was a waste of money. I find the best aid for shooting different ranges is a decent range finder and learning how to use the rifle. I get about 60 shots from a cylinder charge that are decent the last 10 or so are borderline on gophers and magpies.

I also bought a hand pump with it, just in case. I only used it once. What a job filling up a cylinder. Scuba tanks aren't cheap but they sure make life easier.

I picked up a 1000fps rifle, went with the Ruger Air Hawk/scope combo, Only shot it 3 times so far but it looks good!! It's blowing though the side of a washing machine from 20ft which is pretty cool I think!

Unless you're the one who owns the washing machine :p

Congrats! Damn ROC has me sold on the AirForce Condor though. I've got my peepers on the lookout....

Keep me in mind as I might sell mine. He got me interested in the Air Arms repeater.

i was recently in the same head space and all 22'd out, so i picked up a walther falcon hunter in 22 pellet, came with an illuminated scope and WOW this thing works. it's break action single pellet and once you shoot 30 or 40 rounds it gets a little easier to break in.

pros: very powerful, very accurate, good price, i think it was 400 all in from airgunsource. i just called them and explained that i need something powerful and that was his reccomendation
cons: very cheesy looking stock, painted in some weird camouflage, also the stock was really light weight which through off the balance. easily rectified by sanding the stock lightly and some plastic sparypaint from CT. also took off the buttpad, drilled a hole and filled the butt with sand, plugged the whole and voila, cool looking air rifle that can really reach out
