Norinco M4 CQ5.56 Reliability - You Decide

..and to think the FNG holding my norc, only experience with guns was being shot at as a child in tehran, and escaped to Basque spain. Now he's a run-and-gun nut, with a newly minted RPAL. I'm going to gift him the norc since he likes it so much, and that I really only need 1 AR. I keep the optics.

Well here I was seriously considering buying one of these rifles, then I thought hey I should search out some reviews here. The search funtion sucks *ss and didnt even bring this thread up. So I just read the entire 15 pages and have to say thanks to all who have posted. Great info, and I'm ordering mine in the AM. Cant wait. The wife is going to spin out on this one.....whatever.

you need to tell her that she should be glad, that it only costs half of what other brandscost. tell her in terms she'll understand, its like finding 50% shoe sales.

Just a rant. I don't know of any ranges in the Ontario that goes beyond 300yards. If there are, it's too far from me... If the AR was non-restricted, we can technically find a clearing in the bush to test it out, and I think I found my spot.

Besides the AR108, closest evil looking non-restricted I can think of is the Tavor.

My head is spinning again. Our laws are completely messed up. Eventually, all our evil looking firearms will become restricted or worse. :-(

my friend, you try to apply logic and commen sense to canadian fire arm law.... iam sorry but it simply dont work that way..:D

I finally did it. I bought a Norc M4. Flip flopped between buying AR parts or cheap Chinese AR. Fit and finish on this one looks much better compared to one I picked up a few months ago. Now just need to wait for it to get cleared so I can pick it up. :)

Money saved went into reloading equipment.

Thought I would add some mods I did to mine...Someafter market parts do fit & some don't.

1) Retro fitted Natl Match front & rear aperture - YES
2) Retro fit Brownells selector switch - NO
3) Dlask Enhenced trigger guard - NO (Yes with some filling not a fit)
4) Magpul Enhenced trigger guard - YES
5) Magpul CTR stock - YES
6) After market firing pin - YES

Some holes seem to be either smaller larger or smaller by just a few thou, noting a drill can't handle.

My range update.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang. Add new 4 power scope from NCCStar with quick release bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang, bang

Dang need more ammo.

I would like to add today that the Natl Match front post ''rattled & sat high'' likely because of the A1 & A2 differences or its just a plain Norc issue.

Just picked one up. helps reading what you fella's already posted. Really looking forward to firing it.

Another couple of hundred rounds through mine today, still flawless.

"Did anyone put an aftermarket quad rail on theirs yet? i.e. Daniel Defence free float."

I've got a Midwest free float rail on mine, went together in no time, with no issues.

Ignore the Armalite lower, it works just as well as the Norc lower (LOL)
