Norinco M4 CQ5.56 Reliability - You Decide

Since this is becoming the de facto Norinco CQ-A thread here's some pics of my recent arrival, from the May shipment at Badger Arms.

The fit and finish seem to be improved over the previous ones.

Couldn't seem to get the handguards off... maybe just tight fitting because it's new.

A2-style flash suppressor, I had heard it described differently earlier.

And appears to have a better finish.

Also happy there's no "Made in China" stamp.

One thing that caught my eye in the manual was "Service Life: 6000 rounds". But judging by all the poor English and typos in the manual I'm hoping they missed a zero.

IIRC M16s and M4s are taken into the armory for a full servicing at 5000 rounds or so. It might mean you need to look over the weapon and replace anything that might be worn out at that point.

i add to change the fallower in does norc mags with anti tilt ones .and no more jams ,the only problem is to count you points in a match, group to small . thinking of bench with no scope bang bang

What turned me forever was the horrible finish. The CQ-a looks really nice. Like extremely nice. Trigger feels like crap but like others have said it should loosen up with time. I am picking mine up tonight, ATT is ready. W00t!

Wife sais I can get one after I do some chores that she's been waiting on for a couple of years. I'm motivated. Chores almost done.

Hello Zombie Apocolypse defence initiative.:dancingbanana:

Dude, it's already been a day - where the heck are the pictures? :dancingbanana:

Man I took the CQ-A to the range today and it was a blast. My wife and I went through around 250 rounds without a hiccup. Low recoil and super accurate, it was grouping well within 2' at 50 yards with iron sights.

This was my first time shooting this kind of rifle (I have an SKS and Nork M-14) Rapid fire strings were incredible, I was able to shoot ridiculously fast and still keep the rounds within a foot or so in the center of the target.

I picked it up from Sean at MoreGun Supply (Ki11ercane on CGN). Can't say enough good things about his business. Great deals on ammo as well and picked up three LAR mags today before I headed to the range. I am definitely going to be buying more of both.

Very happy with this rifle..
