Norinco M4 CQ5.56 Reliability - You Decide

It came!

Dude, if that's a real ACOG, it's worth 2x what the rifle's worth - I Love it :D

I finally couldn't resist and bought one today! :)

I bought some LAR15 mags to go with it. Out of all the research and people I talked to they seem to be one of the most reliable mags for the AR platform. Would people here agree?

TIA

Aside from Thermolds, I've never heard of "unreliable" ar15 mags... at least not with our 5-rnd limitations. Reliability comes into effect when you start getting into the 30-rnd realm; anything with a Magpul follower is solid.

The LAR15 mags are also the only mags with 10rnds for the AR to my knowledge so there really is no competition. You did good ;)

Thanks. I heard the new M4 Norinco mags were garbage.

Thermold is actually reliable - if it doesn't break.

Stay away from andy steel magazine that is made by USA and Promag, and you will be fine. However, these magazines have pretty much extincted since the lift of 94 AWB.

My Norc mags are fine (of course I cleaned them).

You think all the garbage talk is because people forgot to clean them? Were they full of comsmoline or is that just surplus stuff? :p It's funny how posts can sway someone's decision. I didn't order my new M4 with the Norinco mags because I read that was the only thing wrong with the rifle. It's so much better to actually try something first hand or know someone who has shot thousands of rounds. Oh well, I got 6 of the LAR15s with couplers anyway so I am happy. Now I am waiting like a kid for Christmas for the transfer. :)

When you clean them, you can see the little things that can cause issues (sharp edges, poorly seated follower, bent lip) and fix it before you're pulling the trigger. Either way, since I got Pmags and 10 rounders, I don't really use the Norcs anymore. If you want the extra length of a 30 rounder (for prone) the design work that went into the Pmag is amazing - definitely the best magazine design I've ever seen. It's hard to imagine a round not feeding properly from a Pmag.

Took it to the range on Saturday. Bottom line, this is an M4. If you want an M4 and don't want to get hosed buy one. IT ROCKS.
