NEW Ruger 22!

I think my 10/22 was ~270 all in, but I'm not quite sure. Anyway, I want on of these. It's funny I was just thinking about getting another 10/22 and doing it up like I see around here, then I stumble upon this thing. I think "I'm lazy, why go to all the trouble of getting all the parts and putting it together, when I could just get this" So ya, SR-22, tacticool 10/22 for the lazy man
 
A dealer answer me that the ruger is not illegal in Canada but not exportable because Barrack Obama pass a law to not exportate Tactical gun or accessory. So sr-22 enter in this law. Stupid obama, everyone in is country can have gun like M-16 and ar-15 but he want not export a simple .22 who look military. Be stupid, Barrack yes you can!!!

Why can they export the remington 597 vtr ??? something I don't understand... :confused:

the stock maybe...?

It was way before obama. Rifles with collapsible stocks cannot be exported from America.

I would guess that the collapsible stocks are put on once they're in Canada. I don't know though. You'd have to ask Questar.

We are sorry to advise that: Because of the military-style features of this rifle (telescoping stock, flash suppressor, etc), the US State Dept. will not approve export licenses for commercial sales in Canada. They will consider export licenses for Law Enforcement, Police & Government Agencies only.

We know this is disappointing to all, but it is the current US policy on exports of firearms with these features.

All those foreign terrorists will be wailing in agony that they can't get 10/22s with Nordic stocks. And everybody else, of course, will feel a lot safer.

Some U.S. gun laws are dumber than ours. It's almost unbelievable.
 
Meh, I'm sure if a dealer wanted to bring them in, they could work something out with Ruger to export them in an "acceptable" configuration
 
With so many other brands of .22 rifles on the market right now, it wouldn't be worth the aggravation for a dealer to even attempt a way around it. :rolleyes:
 
Omit flash hider if necessary, fixed stock, or install collapsible once in Canada. Maybe it's not that simple, but Cabela's carries the Remington vtr with a fixed stock.

I'm sure the current management of Ruger is biting their tongue 'til it bleeds on that matter.

We need to get our friends down south aware of these export restrictions.

See if Ruger will export them without stocks and flash suppressors.
