SIG-Sauer AR15 (whoring thread)

I wonder if it is US made or European made? Actually I guess I'm more curious whose export restrictions (if any) we might have to worry about...

This may make it a viable alternative to the US stuff for the Canadian market.

There are so many options these days, it is mind boggling now. I wonder how long this AR craz will last for...

Nice rifle for sure though...

Nothing new really....

I agree AR`s should be non-restricted, they really have become THE sporting rifle.

If you refer to the first post, the picture clearly shows that they'll be made in the US. :slap:

YAwn...

How can the US have so many manufacturers and we have none. We need a gun-pact like the auto pact.

They are MADE IN AMELICA.
On the pic you may be able to read
EXETER, NH, USA

At the bottom of this pic you can read
"Manufactured in Exeter, New Hampshire"

Probably SIG-Sauer realizes that the US market would not react well
to an AR brought from outside
(remember the initial reaction to the HK416/7).

SIG-Sauer has little to do with SIG
and almost nothing to do with Swiss Arms.

Officially they didn't say about price yet,
but I think it can't be much (in US), given the abundance of AR's.
In US, prices started to drop for complete guns
and they will continue to drop.

Nice whoring thread Lector. I didn't think you were into them, though you did a pretty good job with the Sig 522.

It lacks Deckard's panache and repeated calls for Marstar to bring them in cheaply though.

It also lacks lots and lots and lots of interesting pictures of internals and trigger components;):D

Which 2, ATR ?. Dlask imports 80% lowers and finishes then in Canada and his uppers are from the US as well.
Where did you get that info from?
Dlask does ALL the machining on ALL their lowers (forged or billet)
and they were the first Canadian company to do that.
As far as I know, at this moment they are still the only Canadian
company to completely machine lowers from forgings.
They did that for years.

And FYI, the export of the 80%'s from US is completely verboten.

I'm not THAT much into them,
but I thought you guys would like them.

I couldn't get hold of one. It's too early.
These pics are stolen from the net.

It has more to do with the LE market than anything.

I guess S&W is cornering them well by bundling pistol and rifle together.....SIG556 is going nowhere and this is the last ditch effort by generating an AR.

an AR is an AR -these days, most people can churn out good quality AR if they choose to - why buy a SIG when top end weapons made by Colt, Daniel Defence....and even KAC are becoming accessible?? (at least in the US, not in Canada)

It's the latest in a long list of Sig Sauers attempt to diversify their product lines...here's a few other products Sig Sauer USA has tried to make their own lately..

The Sig 1911 isn't generally regarded as being a quality piece. Neither is their Mosquito. Sig Sauer's reputation was built on bullet proof reliability and quality control. These recent attempts to make money are admirable, but at what cost? Erosion of their reputation?
