I was trying very hard to figure out how I could get the NXS aboard the rail and not have to ditch the rear site. Am still working on a solution, as sites for me are almost useless anyway.![]()
Hey Rick can we see more pics of a stripped upper?... also how much?
Would look even better if it didn't have the useless FA button on the side.
Interesting stuff.
If you are gonna insist on asking pedantic geek boy questions it would be best if you knew what you were talking about.
Picatinny and 1913 rails are the same thing. The "1913" designates the specific Mil Std and "Picatinny" refers to the Picatinny Arsenal where that type of rail was developed.
The dimensions of a Weaver rail are virtually identical to the Picatinny rail. The big difference being in the width of the groove and the center to center distance. In most cases the rails are essentially interchangeable and so whether the ATRS uppers have a Weaver or Picatinny rail is completely IRRELEVANT!
Who ever pm'd me about a mount as per my post #22, please send again. I accidentally deleted it....
Thanks dude. Pass it along to Rick as I don't think he knows yet.
I'm starting to think that Emily doesn't need an AR anymore!![]()
If you are going to correct someone be aware of the facts. Weaver and M1913 rails are not the same, nor are mounts interchangeable,in particular cross bolt mounts will not interchange due to the difference of rail spacing and dimension, so it is very relevant to ask these questions. For instance an ARMS #40 BUIS intended for an M1913 rail system will not fit a Weaver rail.
