Useless Whining: If my country were fair and reasonable I could own one of these.

I heard Diemaco/Colt Canada wasn't permitted to sell to civilians by the government as part of their contract with the CF or some such. How true that is I don't know.

I'd love it if they started selling to civilians, and that give money to a veterans' families for every rifle you buy would be great.

As great as this sounds, its not sound business. All businesses are in business to make money, end of story.

Colt Canada uses a loose chamber than the TDP M4/M16 chamber - it helps in reliability of extraction.

We at KAC use Colt Canada 5.56mm Cold Hammer Forged barrels - its a great barrel probably the best available 5.56 in a factory production barrel.

If you were correct, about it not being sound business, there'd never be any corporate sponsorship of anything. Businesses do things that don't DIRECTLY make money all the time. Sometimes putting on a festival, or donating to a charity, ends up costing the company less than the same amount of commercial advertising would, also it makes people feel better about supporting a company, which means they feel better about spending more. Doesn't take a degree in economics to figure why businesses do these things.

If everyone were as practical as TDC, this would not work. TDC is a purpose driven person who is not swayed by pleasantries. Most people are not like TDC in this regard.

You're right, companies often sponsor events or charities. At the end of the day its done to gain the publics support... Financially. Regardless of whether or not the company believes in the charity being supported, the bottom line is profit. There are very few companies who truly donate time or resources with no desire or expectation for future revenue in return.

ATR made a bunch of lowers with custom engraving on them, with everything from Canadian flags to Punisher emblems,also Dlask makes lowers with Canadian flags on them if that's what you want. They also have Canadian made uppers if you really want an entire Canadian made AR15.

Obviously you will never own a full auto, but options exist if you really want to shoot one, other than joining the Army, you could always shoot full autos in Las Vegas, and with the prices they charge for vacations packages right now, it's not that far off of an idea. It's like 400 bucks for 4 days, round trip air and hotel included.

Go to the Las Vegas Gun Range and Firearm Center, UZI, Thompsons, for example, you can shoot all the stuff on this wall for 350 bucks.
 
Was this the same type of firearm the cop had stolen from the back of his unlocked/unsecure car awhile back? Hmmmmmmm.......

How difficult is it to get a citizenship to the states? Seems to me like that would be the way to go if someone wanted more freedom...

Yeah Diemaco had a great thing going, but ever since Colt took them back over they lost there edge & uniqueness. It is truly to bad, but we have to understand there time has passed now!

One thing i will say is, we should go to a company that actually cares about the civilian shooting community in Canada, because "Colt Canada" is completely ignorant too it from my experience.

At least HK employees dream of being able to service us with there products and actually try to with there "sports" line, plus they are aware of it, and they have far more laws that prevent them doing it then Colt Canada does.
