I thought Thompsons were more commonly issued with 20 round magazines. Which isn't a lot when you consider their rate of fire.

Well the thompson and PPSH are in first and second place, respectfully. i guess it could be the fact that they both can take drum mags, 50 round and 71 round drum mags respectfully

The M1 and M1A1 models of the Thompson could only take stick magazines.

I must say that on my M1928 the 20 round magazines aren't the easiest to use. At least not like my MP.40 or PPS-43 where you have a magazine well to slot the magazines into.

I admit I have never even held either of my choices, for me the vote was based purely on aesthethics.
I was born too late to be able to own one in full auto(unless it was possible to own one at 6 years of age). I also missed out on 12(3) by buying the wrong choice of two (in hindsight) at the time. The one I didn't choose would have given me 12(3), the one I did pick became my second 12(5). :(

I picked the M3 grease gun and if I had to pick a second it would be the Thompson.

I'm off the Vegas next weekend and plan on giving both of them a try when I 'm down there.

Thompson

NAA.

if anyone actually cares....

The Thompson is a heavy-awkward-ungainly-clumsy-over built piece of crap compared to what was available at the time...

....and an absolute GASSS to shoot...

the Greaser is far superior and comes in the same 'extra large' calibre

Klunk!!! Wash your mouth out and repent! Else those from the south invade to teach you the superiority of the All American trench broom :p

Simo Hayha, named "The White Death" by the russians, and the world top scoring sniper with over 800 kills, in 100 days, also used the Suomi smg for killing around 200 russian soldiers who was send out to hunt and kill him.

The british Lanchester smg, is a total copy of the german MP 28.

The Suomi was a beautifully accurate, reliable SMG - but a 10 pounds for a tube sub-gun is freakin' stoopid....

Yes simo was a great sinper, but did you know he never used a scope as he felt it put his head to high up, and he was wounded by getting shoot in the head. and I think he died in 2002 0r 2003

See the top 3 subguns are the Thompson, PPSH and the Mp30/40 in that order
