Let's make a concerted effort to get pics, shall we?

Bagged my first Canada Goose ever
IMG_3625.JPG

From the looks of these pics I need some decoys, this was way too much work for one bird (probably a 150 yard belly crawl on the opposite side of a ditch to get in shooting range).

Is that some squished dung on the railroad tie in front of the goose? And is it bad that I actually noticed that?

Grouse hunting with my dad and brother. A once very rare occurrence. Now it happens once a year.

IMG_2566.jpg

Only saw one grouse.

One of the biggest I have ever seen. She was tasty too. Harvested on a later date (with no snow).

What happens when you walk 20km and don't even spook a deer?

IMG_2620.jpg

A "natural" chair that made for a very comfortable 10 minute break from walking.

Manitoba might not be as picturesque as the mountains..... but I sure enjoy being out there with a gun and a prayer.

I do not want people to think I am harping, as some have seen I was on the other side of a recent "gun safety" discussion, but I do not think I would leave the cap on the nipple if I was going to set my cocked ML in a tree.

A little breeze and slip, slam, bang! Not criticizing stuckon308, just it is only a photo and not worth getting hurt over.

I do think that is one of the nicer looking rifles I have seen in a while, and I think the 'pose' is very nice and compliments the rifle. Nice pic. Get anything with it yet?

Pics from moose country. Although no moose were to be seen, just a black bear.

My first watch, evening hunt on arrival day. Nice bear in at 20 yards. No tag.

Sun rise on moose watch. Where else would you want to be?

Snow storm.

That is the ###iest muzzleloader I have ever seen

Thanks. I think it's pretty wicked as well. Not too shabby for $140. When I go out for muzzleloader I feel the need to be authentic/nostalgic.

I figured there would be someone to bring that one up. I was very careful when taking the picture. I didn't walk in front of the barrel at all. The action is very tight and I don't think a hurricane would set anything off. The branches were stiff and wouldn't drop it. I deemed it safe since there was no breeze and frankly I do a lot more scary stuff than that every day. Have you ever driven in Winnipeg on the first snowfall? Anyway, everything was safe. No one was hunting directly behind me. Thanks for the concern.

I haven't killed anything with it yet. It is my first year (and was my first day) hunting with it. I had it grouping 2" at 75 yards while standing (not on a bench). Percussion caps are by far the best balanced guns I have ever handled, and this one is the best that I have ever held. Sure hope to see a deer this year. I only have one more planned outing during muzzleloader. I have three Mondays off in November for rifle. If I get my deer with my rifle I might take out the muzzleloader for my second deer.

Well after 3.5 days worth of hunting all we seen was 3 deer. So when I seen this little guy looking at me with a dum look on its face. I told my hunting partner not much meat on that one. So ill try for a head shot. At 100 yards. So I did.

not too much of a story really. I was hunting moose 2 weekends ago and was poking along real quietly through some poplar bluffs. I think I woke this guy up. It took him a while to figure out what i was i think and in that time I managed a quick shot with my cheap sony digital. It would have been nice to have my bow along but oh well. And about fifteen minutes later we got our 2 moose. A beautiful cow and calf.

Here's some from Tonight. We were searching for ditch parrots but didn't put up anything. My arm has been bothering me so I left the shotgun at home and did all my shooting with my camara. My friend was carrying his trusty 11-87 and his dog Misha put alot of miles on Tonight. Take one look at her face and you'll know she's the happiest pup in the world. :)

Here is my new Pharaoh2 signature, a truck picture to start off every photo posting.

I always think seeing these things at this time of year is a real treat. You wouldn't have caught me this close a couple months ago.
