I think you are mixing up the 375 RUM with the 375 RUger, unless Remington has started building carbines with Hogue stocks. :bump:
 
I don't come into this area much, but how about this since you just said "Cartridges" not rifle catridges:

The 22 short is a very efficient little cartridge. With body hits on small game. rabbits, squirrels, grouse, etc., it is actually more effective than long rifle. Hit a grouse in the body with a long rifle and there is a good chance it will fly away, before it dies. Hit in the same place with a short, which stays in the body, and it will very seldom fly away.
 
Agreeing with that, Remingtons SAUMs are toast and the WSSMs don't seem to be doing too well either. Toss in the 7mm and .325 WSM as well. The Remington Ultra Mags are alright, but the .338/.375 might be too much of a good thing for most people - even Remington only offers them in one rifle. Not seeing the Ruger RCMs flying off the shelf either, they just don't have the market acceptance.

.270 and .300 WSM are here to stay.
 
Be interesting to watch and see what happens with the 17 Remington Fireball. Its been out long enough now that we should be hearing a lot about it...
 
The reason all these rounds fall by the wayside is that they aren't needed.
There are so many rounds now with fine performance that there isn't any area that hasn't been covered.
It's the gun industry answering the question that nobody asked.

Haven't seen a rifle in .351 Self Loading in years.

I think the .416 Remington is circling the toilette bowl also.

The .32 Winchester Special & the .35 Remington aren't overly popular.

The .250-3000 is just about kaput.

The .221 Fireball went the way of it's running mate the Remington XP-100 bolt action handgun.

Nope. Remington is still chambering the 700 Sendaro SFII in the 264 still. LeBaron's had a couple in the catalog in the past year or so.
 
The .41 AE for one. Not introduced in the last 10 years though. Beaten senseless by the .40 S&W. If I hadn't bought 500 cases and dies when I bought the barrel, I'd have an oddly shaped paperweight.

I don't know if that one is going out or not, seems every time I hear about it there is nothing but praise except for early slow barrel twists but that is the gun design not the cartridge....
I sure hope it survives, I hear about it more than the 25-06.

Many of the new chamberings seem to be a flash in the pan as already stated an answer to the question not asked.

There might be some praise there but unless you find an old gun that is already chambered for it / get one rechambered and reload for it thank you are not shooting a whole lot of 250-3000 :) .

I guess we have to define the difference between commercially dead and Completely dead .

Seems that on the ammo availability scale, I've picked up a few that are in that category:yingyang:, at least to some degree:);
  • 219 Donaldson Wasp
  • 7x57R
  • 7x61 Sharpe & Hart
  • 308 Norma Magnum
  • 358 Norma Magnum
However, it is somewhat of a non issue in that I have acquired a 'generous' supply of brass components and dies for each:D.
