You're certainly right on that. Ball C2 is one of the best kept secrets in handloading. It gets 2300 fps with 286 gr bullets in the 9.3X57 with good case life and no loose primer pockets. More than 2600 fps with 180s in the 303 Br is a piece of cake too.
No other powder come close with that bullet weight.
It is also what I have loaded in various 358 Win rifles for the past 25 years, 45 gr with the Speer 250 spitzer and magnum primers.

Heavy recoil is heavy recoil but even with the 200fps velocity gain I really couldn't tell the difference between the loads and it is nowhere near the recoil of my 300gr loads.
Now I need to score 2 - 3 lbs more of RL17 so I don't run out this lbs is almost gone.
