Can you shoot wrinkled boolits?

Depends where the wrinkle is, and even then, what size and gun are they for. If it's wrinkled up and down the bullet, you'd likely get gas cutting. If the base is wrinkled, accuracy would suffer. You've been here long enough to know:

Can you shoot wrinkled boolits? Are they useable?

I never shot a boolit, wrinkled or not. Most things get wrinkled as they age, so I suppose a wrinkled boolit would be quite old and may be very tough to eat, but I suppose would still be useable.
Sorry I can't be of a greater help to you.

The wrinkle is in about the same place on each boolit, near one of the seam lines of the mold.

Whats a "boolit"?
I once regretted chewing a wrinkled chiclet that had been in the bottom of my hunting jacket pocket for about 5 years but thats another story for another day.:puke:

You could but I would melt them down and recast. Your lead is either not hot enough or your mold is cold... or the fluidity of your lead alloy is off... try adjusting the first two variables. what kind of lead are you using your bullets should be more silver and less gray colour.

Clean the mould really good, Best result was mineral spirits. Smoke it with a wooden match. Then get the mold good and hot. If you have a lee mold they like to run hot. I had this problem and found the mold was to cold.

Try using a propane torch to heat the mold up a bit before you start casting... or you can dip it in the pot until the lead wont stick to it anymore then its should be plenty warm you might need to cool it down a bit after doing that... the lines are because the mold is not filling out properly it could be because its cold or your not pouring the lead fast enough.

I cleaned the mold with methyl hydrate, it looks very clean. I'll smoke it and try dipping it into the lead next time. I'll just recycle the bullets. Thanks to those who helped.
