For some of us, it's the only rifle besides a 12 gauge that can be legally fired out in the county besides travel to the next county. So you learn to be creative with shooting the rimfire!!

If you are hunting yes. If you are on crown land and have targets up you are clearly not hunting. You can fire anything you like. I may be wrong but those limitations are for hunting regs. So if you are not hunting there is no issue. If you are going to tell me that I am wrong then how would someone target practice in the woods without a hunting license during hunting season. If you are automatically assumed to be hunting you are screwed either way. likewise if you are shooting in the woods in the off season you would automatically be assumed to be hunting, and be charged with poaching.

I was going to say, those of you who are lucky enough to live by crown land have it made. But for those of us who are restricted by municipality regulations we are deprived. Around Essex county there is to many houses, you can't go a km without running into another house, farm etc. So yes it really sucks not being able to fire what I want!!!! : - {

I want that S&W M&P .22LR AR-15 style rifle!!!!!!!!
We're allowed to shoot our mouth off as long as it is politically correct and not to loud, or spit to far, or anything unkind bla bla bla. There is literally nowhere open enough to shoot and very little crown land. Essex is good for fishermen but not shooters.

I should have bought a fishing rod instead of a firearm!! Yeh it sucks but I make do with my .22 and pellet guns. We are allowed to shoot no bigger then as .22LR and a 12 gauge, no slugs in Essex county. I have my own .22/pellet range on a friends farm so we have some interesting times. We go through on average of 500rds of .22 every month.
Wow then I am very glad i decided to buy a 10/22 and not the SKS
I know somebody that will let me go shoot on their farm ....
Another question, does this rule apply to shooting targets as well or only for hunting ??

there around 599 canadian and i believe the second shipment is here now of the non restricted sr22s (shoot pretty darn good to)
the 597vtrs are good as well I have no complaints about accuracy only the lack of after market mags and goodies
building your own toys are way more fun but as mentioned pricey but in the end its what you wanted not what a factory built and our club has smallbore fun shoots all summer and with 3 teenagers YES I need several 22s and 500 rounds a day at 30 bucks is a hell of alot cheaper than centerfire ammo................ now I just need a drum mag for this 1
