Hi Guys I'm looking for opinions on the Desert Eagle in .357magnum. Anyone have any experience with one. How is it compred to the .44mag? In that question I mean which do you prefer.
with the gas system in the Desert Eagle you will have to stick to jacketed rounds no matter what cal you pick
I shot a 357 at Wild West. It didn't cycle very well with the ammo they had.
I may have been limp wristing it. May not have been properly looked after? Who knows.............

The owner of the pistol told me, in order to have it cycle he needed to load it very hot loads.
Factory load would not cylcle properly.
Loading with a powder too fast == too abrupt impact on the gas piston. My .357 got 6+ reloads on a piece of brass. The DE in .357 and .44 batters the brass badly, in extraction and ejection, and yet can't be underloaded because it would cause poor cycling.
Most factory loads will work fine. The only brand I found to not work was S&B.Factory load would not cylcle properly.
It's a big, showy gun. You'll be the centre of attention.Hi Guys I'm looking for opinions on the Desert Eagle in .357magnum. Anyone have any experience with one. How is it compred to the .44mag? In that question I mean which do you prefer.
Thanks guys for all the replies. I finally bought one in .357mag. and it's not for show as I usually shoot alone at our range. Most of the guys work and I'm retired and shoot during the day. No one else will see the gun except the wife who doesn't care what it looks like. I dont have it yet but the transfer is complete and I can't wait, Cheers Guys.
