So now that the SitReps have hit the streets... and you have all read the Bio's / Campaign notes...

What do you think?

I will say there are some really good ideas brought up by some of the candidates.

A majority of the candidates metioned updating / improving the classification system in some way or another... Long overdue, if you ask me.

Our constitution was also adressed...again, long overdue.

Code of Conduct? I'd like to learn more. What do you think?

A forum for IPSC Ontario... sounds great to me.

What about something that would attract new people to the sport?

Also, it would be nice to make ipsc-matches site an official, so we won't have to bounce between calendar and matches closed for registration. And also streamline publishing the match scores.

PS: BTW, Filthy1, are you going to cancel that December match or not?

A majority of the candidates metioned updating / improving the classification system in some way or another... Long overdue, if you ask me. Overdue??? The system has been modified 3 times in the past 2 years!!!

Our constitution was also adressed...again, long overdue. This is in the January 2008 minutes as requiring an update, and again in February. In January 2009, it is listed as having a sub-committee addressing it, to be presented at the 2009 AGM

FYI - IPSC Ontario is usually one of the leaders in black badge classses within the NEC; you seem to have that part fairly figured out - A bigger challenge is keeping the people all you attract since your numbers pretty much stay the same each year. Attrition is normal in any sport, but when IPSC black badge shooters give up, it's a lot of investment to loose.

We train about 150 new people per year...and our total number increase by about 50 (year over year)

Of the 100 or so we lose every year (the delta between new BB's and our actual organic growth) about half of them leave after the first year. Bud keeps very detailed records on this...we even track what area codes lose the most people.

That being said...we're just shy of 1100 members. Our numbers have not been this high since the full capacity mag ban came in (and it was rumored that you could keep you full caps if you were BB certified) Most of "those people" left once they figured out it wasn't true...so if you ignore that artificial number (they never intended to shoot IPSC) we are at an all time high.

I hate the attrition numbers...but I like steady growth...
