i have a remington 597 in .22 and it a great gun.. the only problem i had with it was jamming once in a while from ammo bought at wal-mart...then i switched to CCI Stingers and it worked fine after that!
My friend has a 597. To this day I have yet to get the full 10 rounds to cycle through without some sort of FTF or jamming or recocking issues.
Yes you can & yes it will. Or you can do what I did and file down the trigger a bit to reduce it that way but if you do please rember less is best! Just check with snap caps to make sure you didn't take to much off.I got one for my son....many times I hear him sigh and just put the gun down in frustration. It seems to me the trigger pull is excessive. Can buying the Volquartzen hammer fix this? Has it got a smaller sear engagement?
