How much interest in a Canadian limited edition Ruger No.1?

The easiest way would be to look at ww w.Ruger.com
Click on single-shot rifles and choose the 2 models the pictures show alot of detail.
Basically the RSI is the international version which has the full length stock.
Mannlicher style if I recall correctly.

Thanks Clay, I'll call you tomorrow with a deposit for two at least (1&2:D ). Then do the same & pass the word on. I don't personally care which of the two models, but if you need an answer, I'll have one for you by the time I call-Jason

Likley an 1-A, although it could be whatever people want. That's part of the problem, one guy will want a RSI, the next in maple, etc. If this is going to work, we'll need guys to still order even if its not their exact ideal.
To try to get one that suits the maximum number of people without driving cost up, perhaps just a 1-A with a custom serial like CAN1867-00001?

My mention of Maple was just to get the ball rolling. Hell I'll take em in any config, considering they will be the 1st No.1's produced by Ruger in .303 & one of the few commercial hunting rifles ever produced in .303 by a North American company (not talking sporterized Enfields) & it all bodes well to be a fine collector's piece with only 250 being produced.:D

So what is the exact offer ???

So, is it a 303 for sure or did I read you could have one in 7 x 57 ? I'd go for the RSI in 7X 57 or 6.5 x55 but have little enthusiasm for the 303.

By going with the .303, that would mean a regular .311" bullet and not a .308" substitute like they did with the Mini-30 (.308 instead of .310) right?

PM sent. I'm in for either but prefer the RSI. I think the better sights and circasian walnut on an RSI would be the $#!t. I know there will be more interest if the price is kept lower so 'normal' walnut is good too. I know a few that might be interested so I will put the bug in their ear tomorrow.

It could go either way, we could go for the RSI or the 1-A. Thing is we need to do what will get the most orders; guys that want one but will 'settle' for the other will make this work. BTW, we are at about 27 'hard' orders since I announced this a few hours ago. Its great but a long way to 200. We need all the guys here to tell their buddies too. :)
What about getting some other CDN dealers involved as well?

.

I'll take one. Just to be sure, is the 1A the model with the A-H forearm and iron sights and rings?
If this run will be limited to 250, then I'll take two and put off retiring for a month or two. I would be happy with the International as well.

If it's the 1-A, does anyone know for sure if Ruger will sell the necessary parts to convert to an RSI later? A reasonable hope of that would probably pry a deposit out of me, too.

It has been my (albeit limited) experience that getting wood only out of Ruger is like getting blood from a stone.

Thanks, Silverado. Still, that doesn't mean I won't want one. Maybe I'd get someone to make the wood for it one day, maybe I'd just live with it.

We are up to 37 orders as of 9 PMish Tuesday night. Not bad, if we can make 100 in a week or so, we might actually have a chance. I really never believed it would. If we make 100, I'll actually start charging deposits; if we make north of 150, I'll place the order. I'll inventory what's left and , judging by the US interest, Lipseys might be talkd into keeping more than 50. :)

.303 #1

As much as I love my 7X57 RSI, I'd prefer a .303 more in the medium sporter line. With 24" or26" barrel and instead of the Alexander Henry forend I like a black tip...and since were at it...how about a classic British cheek-rest.
Cheers
Geoff
