How much interest in a Canadian limited edition Ruger No.1?

We just hit 50. I guess I can go to sleep now. :)
I'm glad to be helping with this and its certainly welcome business, of course, however, I never thought it might actually work. I know the next 50 and the 50 after that might be more difficult, however, a small part of me actually is starting to belive. :)

Yeah, it went from a pipe dream I've had for a while to a strong possibility... That's a good feeling. A No.1 or 3 has always been a classy firearm with looks to boot. And a .303 British cartridge in my books oozes Canadian heritage from World Wars to probably your first hunting rifle. Ok maybe to some of you guys, your Dad's or Grand Dad's 1st rifle... Young @#%$ ! I think with a limited run, if possible, the only guys who will be sorry are the ones who don't get in on this... You can ask Clay, I'm not a hired mouth piece.... I'm a free agent!

Add me in to the list.
I give my vote to .303Brit. Its still a Canadian calibre, without being so obscure we'd be hard pressed to find brass & components.

If a guy where to put a deposit on one of these rifles, what would the run time be, months years. Reason I ask is I may self and I'm sure there are others in the same boat, who would like to get in on this but need the time to save up the money.

I was told with any luck we will be shooting these before next christmas. I guess it depends how long for Ruger to tool up, make the guns and for Clay to import. A fair bit of work but should give a guy some time. I don't want to hold my breath as its a lot of variables.

It could go either way, we could go for the RSI or the 1-A. Thing is we need to do what will get the most orders; guys that want one but will 'settle' for the other will make this work. BTW, we are at about 27 'hard' orders since I announced this a few hours ago. Its great but a long way to 200. We need all the guys here to tell their buddies too. :)

What exactly is a 'hard order' ?? Are you counting me? I only posted I would be interested in one. I definitely can't afford it for another few months....just wanted to make sure I wasn't overinflating your headcount

See ya soon Clay! Some more of my hard earned severance pay just got spent.
I don't care what 'tis, long as it's a 303B w/sights. Got a vintage K 2.5 that would
fit nicely.

I'll bring a pic up of a #1 in 340 Roy I had back in the '80s. Scanner not
working for me :( else I post a nice pic of it and a 74" speed goat.

Congrats, we just hit 50. :)
however, that's it for tonight-off to bed. I just sent a message to my sales rep with the update.
Do we have a final decision on the rifle configuration incl wood selection? Maybe there should be a poll with a few popular selections to gauge the widest interest.

Also, there should be some attempt to involve other CDN dealers in taking a few to get the numbers up as well as get the word out a bit more.

.

Clay,
As I said before, I like the Number One and a .303 Brit would be a great addition. I like the idea of a light sporter with open sights but I am not really interested in full wood. Thanks.

Count me in for one definitley! The sooner the better!
