Hi there, have a question about tokarevs. Is it possible to swap 7.62 original russian with 9mm Norinko barrels and back without altering the gun, and not giving it liability to break?

What model norc? If it has the spacer in the magazine no problem. Apparently some had a spacer in the mag well. I've never done the latter, I've done the former twice; easy as hell.
The recoil impulse of a 7.62 x 25mm is much stronger than a 9 x 19mm; I'd expect the guns life to be shortened over-all. But the basic design is originally for a 7.62.
A 9mm with a Tok 7.62 barrel won't eject a loaded round though.

Excuse the crud in the pic, Pic was taken at the end of a shooting session
Thats a Norinco 201 with a tok 7.62 barrel installed
www.sksman.com for barrels and clips. Way good deal but don't exceed 100$ total or it complicates things at the border
Just guessing but I don't think installing a 9mm in a TT-33 would be difficult either; barrel and clip be about it
Oh and get another link and link pin; they are inexpensive but fit quite tight. I wouldn't want to swap link's back and forth

I have the 9mm barrel and bushing and sometimes shoot the pistol with 9mm . The 9mm casings eject onto one's hand compared to the x25 casings being thrown 12 to 15 yards! there is not much pressure in the 9mm round compared with the 7.62x25.

The Chinese pistols are strong and shooting either round will not dammage them. They seem to be over-built.

Thanks for replying guys!!! (that was my first post here ^^), i am convinced totally now, thought our gunsmith told me that 'the gun isn't build for that', but he's superstrict swiss ))) i own russian-build 7.62 one and didn't get a barrel just yet, i've been told that i should go to marstar for one (they make barrel them?), and i was wondering is there any specific brand i should look for or as they say get a whole norinco gun?

The barrel on a 9mm is larger in diameter. The hole for the 9mm barrel bushing is accordingly larger in diameter.

I fixed that by having the 9mm barrel OD turned down about .025" by a machinist so I just use the 7.62 bushing for both.
BTW, Lever Arms has the 9mm full sized mags (spacer in the mag itself) for $15.

Go with www.sksman and you'll save a bunch of coin. Marstar wants 150ish a barrel. SKSman wants 35 US. I've put 1000 + rds through mine no problem
