Well wait no longer.

This September will see the latest version of the Drama Daze Match which has now morphed into the EESA IPSC Chairty Match.

the 2010 recipient of the funds will be the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

We have it booked as a full on Level III match. I am hoping to raise a ton of cash for CCFF.

This past September we raised $4350 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. (note $20 will get you a nice tax reciept!!! LOL)
 
Section Coordinator is selected by the members of the new BOD.

By our constitution, it is a process of elimination type of vote. Starting with voting on the 5 members... one with least votes gets eliminated... and so on, until winner is declared new Section Coordinator.

You must have pissed off the postman. Because if I recall correctly, there was one ballot returned from Naples, Florida. One of our members must have their mail forwarded to them while they are snowbirding. Ballot went from Windsor to the members residence... to Florida... than back to me... with plenty of time to spare.

When I realized I wasn`t going to get one I emailed, Bud said he had the wrong postal code so it only just arrived, too late.

Yes, got a ballot a month ago, was waiting for sitrep to peruse the bios before making a decision. :bangHead:

Why couldn't the vote be held using email? Would probably require a change in the constitution, right?

If the majority want to discontinue sitrep in hard copy then do everything electronically. It would be interesting to see the turnout then don't you think?

Thanks Weaverd!!:D Stormbringer puts on large matches and generates a TON of cash for charity. It shows a good light on gun clubs.;)

The problem with the idea is at the moment, it would be difficult to both limit votes to eligable members, and at the same time ensure a secret ballot. It would also require a seperate hand count system for those who do not have computers, or who choose to stick to a paper ballot.
 
running a province wide election is always hard. i ran the last one as i was the retiring SC so i had no "interest" in the new one besides wanting someone to takeover (PLEASE!!) i went with a double envelope system, the first one was blank to put the ballot in. the second one was pre-addressed with the members name for the return address so that i knew it was a legitimate vote. the vote envelope was not open till the counting night and there were four members to witness that there was no making on the envelopes to indicate who they came from. i still had people saying i was somehow not running a clean election, through those who did complain couldn't say how!

i did have one member that lost his ballot/envelope and we were able to accommodate him.

Instead of the members name, Phil used numbered envelopes. It seemed to work out pretty well.

I bet Ian Fachie could come up with something electronic. How about an arms-length third party?

Personally don't care if the ballot is secret or not.

How many IPSC members do not own a computer I wonder?

The number corresponded to a master list of the membership.

With a mail ballot system, there needs to be some form of control on ballots while still ensuring secrecy of the election.

This multiple envelope system seemed to work good. But there are still a few notes that I have jotted down for future elections. While it was not perfect, I can say for sure that no member voted more than one time, and that no one on the election committee (including myself) has any idea how anyone voted, (with the exception of their own vote of course).
