So what purchases are on the agenda for 2010? :)

I ordered a Ruger 77/17 laminate as a Christmas bonus but don't expect to see it until at least March. And don't tell Clay but I will be ordering a Cooper Varminter Laminate anyday as soon as I decide between a 22-250AI or 6mm Rem. If I get the 6mm then a Sako 85 grey wolf in 22-250 will also be needed to balance out the gun safe.

B-78 I bought a Sako 85 Grey Wolf in 22-250 in Jan 2009 and have an older Vari-X 111 4.5-14X40mm fine duplex 1" tube mounted on it since I got it it is an amazingly accurate fast handling rifle that I completely recommend.

I just did a deal on the EE for a NIB VX111 4.5-14X40mm Varmint reticle side focus 30mm tube it should be showing up early next week I can hardly wait.

My load is 34grs IMR3031, 52gr Speer Varminter HP @ 3680fps here is the first time I shot this load and only the second time I had the rifle to the range, I was sighting in the scope then did the 4 shot 100 yard group this was after shooting and cleaning after every shot for 30 rounds.

One of four rifles, I hope. Have to see how the budget is in Jan. 2010.
Looking at a marlin xpress (.308), Stevens 200 in .308, Marlin XL7 in 30-06 or .270 win. Can you say overtime!!...:p

Hoping for one of the Ruger #1s in .303British. :D
looking into getting my first serious shotgun as well.
Who knows what else might come along?

I love the idea of a No1 .303 brit, but alas it isnt going to happen this year. My house account took several hits this past year, so it serious save mode for the forseeable future.

Hope financial 'things' start to turn out more in your favour in the New Year. Good luck.

It does sound like an interesting acquisition but somewhat like yourself, and as I've previously stated, I have a few items on my list:redface: that funds are set aside for and that will more than take care of my mad money for the coming year. In addition, I have a pair of jungle carbines in that caliber that don't get used enough.

I did have a Ruger #1-V in 22-250 that I ended up giving to my son when I picked up my 'antique' Winchester High Wall in 219 Donaldson Wasp. Anyway, he uses it on Gophers & Coyotes in the B.C. interior. It shot fairly well, but I always thought it should do better. I came across an article on "The Ruger No. 1, Shooting and tuning" by Ross Seyfried in the September 2000 issue of "Rifle" magazine. I gave the article to a local gunsmith and the modifications he made to my Ruger made quite a difference to the accuracy results. Oh, also, one of the small subtitles states "The No. 1 is of British descent" so the choice of rifle, and caliber in line with :canadaFlag:Canada:canadaFlag: is a fitting combo.

The condition of the magazine was starting to deteriorate so I scanned the article plus a page from Beartooth Bullets with some similar and relevant info. If anyone is interested in accuracy improvements for the Ruger No. 1, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it on to you.

All the best and good shooting in the New Year:).

This year First, Shiloh Sharps #1 sporter all gussied up and Second a FA 83 in 500 wyoming:)

I'd like the same but with other 'goodies' I'm looking at or have lined up, I'll be quite content to get the Pedersoli Sharps I presently have the 'loan' of. If/when I do get it, one of the first orders of business is a more appropiate set of long range type sights.

I had a Pedersoli Sharps, it was ok. Sold it. Its no Shiloh though. Kinda like the Norinco vs a real M1As, or a Pietta vs a Colt 1873, or a blow up doll vs the real thing:p:nest:

That I'll have to take your word for;). All I've ever 'played' with is the real thing:p:stirthepot2:.

Ment to mention, I like your avatar.
