Well it looks like the design is going into full production.

Im interested in the design as it seems like it works well.
Curious to see if this gun will be available in Canada.

It may classify as a rifle with a 16" barrel but it takes Glock 21 mags so that means a 10 round limit :D

What would this gun classify as? Pistol or rifle? There are two offerings one with a 5.5" barrel and one with a 16" barrel. Both have folding stock on them tho.

If it has a folding stock it wont be exportable without a 16" barrel due to US Export regs.

It will be classified as a RIFLE, and the mags it comes with will most likely be pinned to 5 rounds, but you should be able to use the 10 round glock mags with no problem, same as with the Beretta CX4 Storm with pistol mags.

The look is not very pretty but the idea and the function seems sound.
I think I will look into this further to see if I can get one of these over here to Canada.

I figured that the 5.5" would be a no go but that's fine with me. I'm more interested in the 16" version as it is more accurate than the 5.5".
So far the reviews that I have found are all positive. They seem to be extremely reliable (possibly Glock reliable ?!?!?!?!), easy to clean, easy to shoot and just all around good quality. A little pricey but that seems to be the trend for all new guns.

Its a dead market and idea. Pistol calibre carbines only shine if they're compact and easy to conceal. The Kriss is neither compact nor easy to conceal and has a pathetic magazine capacity. Sub guns produce minimal recoil and the downward stroke and the "advantage" of the Kriss is untested and not needed.

I would think that .45 would be a poor choice for police entry teams since the heavy pistol bullets penetrate walls far better than 5.56 and pose a threat to neighbouring occupants.

Very true, not to mention their inferior terminal performance compared to high velocity rifle rounds.

Bingo....

A 5.5 barrel Kriss? So just a clunky pistol then...what a 6lb pistol at that, right so that innovative recoil mech is the huge factor....I believe I could have got a Glock 18, put a stock, mini foregrip and put on some lead weight and called it a day.

Whoever said it was easy to clean....I fail to see how this system is easy to maintain. The entire recoil system is inside that shroud which would have to be opened up for regular maintenance. Take a look at the field strip of the Kriss. They didn't even bother to use capture pins, then you have to hold back the charging handle and pull out the recoil assembly.

Well I do not know were you take this. This is a new gun. Obviously the company that develop it and invested money into it do not think so. They might have a better insight ? I am really wondering what kind of expert you are to state that the '' Kriss is untested and not needed'' This is a new concept and yes it is untested. But not needed ?? It is developed for a market ( military and police force). I can think of a few hundred gun that are tested and not needed... Who need so many 12 gage pump shotgun ?Who need so many model of CQB ? Who need so many model of handgun ?? Who need so many AR model?

If you read a bit about the .45 CQB..they are the hottest thing south of the border...so a lot of people will disagree with you starting with me !!

Sorry, not everybody is in special forces.

I think it'd make a cool range gun

This will sell OK on the civilian market. Not everyone who shoots knocks down doors and clears rooms.

Give yer heads a shake guys FFS. Maybe I'm in a bad mood, but the hardcore posers on this sight are getting to me.

It's an interesting design wich I'm sure none on this forum would pass up the chance to shoot if the opportunity presented itself.

I call BS. Sub guns are hot for those who don't know any better. The several negative attributes of a sub gun have been posted. I have yet to see a positive attribute. The overall size and weight if the Kriss make it a non contender among the current sub gun offerings.

I suspect the civilian sales will be much greater than the MIL/LE sales. However, the Kriss system was designed and is being marketed to the later which could very well sink the company.

The recoil is minamal for the amount of lead it will put down range. It is an interesting gun to shoot, even better when someone else is paying for the ammo! I don't like the having two controls, one safety and one fire selector. This gun has been around for quite awhile. I can see the civilan sales doing better than the Military or police.

Kriss

I think the only adavantage it would offer would be in fully automatic. Therefore as a civilian, the only reason I would be inclined to buy it would be for LCF or as part of a collection. Collectability wise, it will only be good after the idea is dead and production is halted. I can't see it being offered here at a reasonable price, I think it would end up like PS90's or FS2000's- between $3500 & $4000. I built a Glock 21 carbine with a custom flash hider for lees than $1800 incl. optics that takes the same mags and a beretta Storm or HK USC could be had for $2000-ish, so I won't be holding my breath waiting for them. I like the idea, I'm interested in the design, but in a civvy semi-auto--pointless. (unless for a collection or conversation piece).
