You can't, but only the M213 as it was purpose built for 9mm - the TT-33 and the Marstar Toks are good to go. Why was discussed in some detail in this thread months ago. A few guys don't believe it, but none of them can produce an operating gun to back them up.

Buy those 7.62 barrels to convert the M213 at your peril.

for the record I am not attempting a conversion, I want a replacement for my 762 MOD 54-1, and could use mags as mine do not hold in.

Firing Pins and Muzzle Brakes! -no grips yet

Hello All,
First off let me wish everyone a Happy New Year!
Several Items came yesterday and are up for grabs until gone.
-Tokarev Muzzle brakes (black) = $35
-Tokarev Firing Pins (4) = $19
-1911 Muzzle brakes (black)= $35 (nickel)= $45 (SS)= $55
-The famous Mueller TAC II 3-10x44 scope = $349

The guy in the US is dragging his heels on the production of the Grips. I don't anticipate any until April. I call every week to hassle and remind. I may start looking closer to home to get them made soon. If you know anyone who has the capabilities don't hesitate to PM me. I'd rather have them made here anyway.

Cheers

Picked up an unfired m213 from the EE a while back. Took it to the range for the first time today to give it a whirl. Before using it I polished up the feed ramp on the frame and barrel. Put 100 rounds through it today and it ran like a champ. No feeding/ejecting issues whatsoever. The accuracy left a little to be desired though (maybe 6-7 inches at 25 yards). Is that average? I was shooting cci 115grn and win wb 124 grn. I'll have to try some different ammo (147grn) to see if there's anything it likes. The trigger is pretty heavy too so I'm sure that had something to do with it. Outside of that is there any way to tighen up the groups a bit?
(maybe I'm asking too much for a $99 pistol but you know :) )

Super7, your groups will tighten up after a while. Both of mine started out with groups that looked like they came from a blunderbuss. For one the groups went down to as tight as my old guy nerves can hold any gun after about 5 to 8 magazines. The other one took longer and needed around 150 to 200 rounds but it's as good as its brother now.

Are you saying that I'll get more used to shooting it...or something will "break in" and cause the groups to shrink?

It may be partly you but since I don't know you and how you shoot I can only relay my own experience. Since I had two guns and one quickly settled down and shot just fine while the other was a "spray and pray" until later I'm going with the break in option for at least the second one. And even for the first one it grouped much more openly at first than is typical for me when first shooting a gun that is new to me. Not a NEW gun you understand, just new to me.

It's only my thoughts but I believe that it takes a while before the barrel seats in the slide consistently during lockup. Or perhaps there's some burrs near the muzzle crown that need to be polished away by some shooting. Hard to say what the cause may be.

I saw this on even a new CZ Shadow that a buddy bought. He was definetly used to shooting the Shadow since he had gotten quite a bit of trigger time on my own. But when he first started shooting his brand new gun the groups were about twice or more larger than he normally shoots. After about two or three boxes it was shooting nice tight groups and he's all smiles.

I found mine doesn't do so well with 147gr. Hard to describe the difference exactly, but it just feels tighter with 115gr. Don't let that stop you from trying out different ammo though - could just be mine.

As for accuracy, I had a similar experience to BCRider. My groups tightened up after 100 rounds or so. I've also found that this pistol is very unforgiving. Some handguns you can get away with sloppy technique - this isn't one of them.

Favor

Hi Guys,
I need a favor. Could someone with a precise measuring instrument find out the thickness of the metal by the grip? This is for the new grips and I'm trying to have them custom made to the m213. Thank you!

Cheers,
Asimons

The M 213 has a smaller magazine well to accommodate the 9 X 19 correct? Therefore the longer 7.62 X 25 mags can't fit?
Just curious

The longer section mags fit just fine. You just need to remove the U channel filler in the 9mm 213. And if you then buy and use the mags from Lever Arms that have the spacer built into the magazines you don't need to switch the U shaped spacer in and out.

But to use the Lever mags with the 213 you need to file a U groove in the upper wall of the mags as I showed in the 213 DIY Mods thread.

Asimons, I checked one of mine and the thicker walled spots range from a low of 0.085 inch to a max of 0.097. The mag well on this one not being perfectly centered within the outer shape caused this variation. Measuring various spots of the thinner points where the grip srings slide up to lock in place showed a range of thickness of from 0.045 to 0.057 from measuring all four contact lands. Likely this variation has something to do with the slightly skewed mag well.

I had to remove my safeties since with a good high two handed grip I kept pushing them forward to "safe" by somewhere between the end of the first mag or by halfway through the second. The wrap around the back grips that come on some other versions of the Tokarev and various Norinco versions partially screen the safety would cure this and I'd put them back on if for no other reason but to fill the holes.
