It is the fastest production .375 caliber, but it is not The King. For a cartridge to be The King, it has to actually be popular. Sorta like why the 30-06 is still the King of the .30 calibers, when there are faster cartridges available.

I can see why some of you aren't overly enthusiastic about the CZ and Howa rifles- They aren't my first choice either, of course. However, it's interesting to see that the NEW KING has clearly made a big enough impression on other manufacturers that they want to get in on it. Understandable, as the NEW KING continues to enjoy unprecedented sales.

have to agree. 378 may be faster, more hp, but for popularity, I think the 378 lost that 30 + years ago!
The 375R is gaining everyday. I'm just trying to figure out how I'm gonna pay for the #1 Clay/DWE is trying to bring about, an XCR, a SIG 522, and another Shiloh! And sure as $H!T, Clay is going to bring an African to the Lloydminster Gun Show, which of course I will be drooling over....

From what I've seen in the stores the H&H is still king and the 378 follows that. I have seen more 378's than rugers. But it won't take many sales to be #2. The H&H is sweetness. You can keep your 50fps. I would buy a howa before a CZ anyday. My thoughts anyway.
 
You have to admit that even when chambered in a lame duck cartridge the CZ still looks better than the Ruger!

The .375 RUger sales have been staggering, far surpassing Ruger and Hornadys projections....They have had problems making them fast enough because they are selling so well!:dancingbanana:

The .375 Ruger is to the .375 H&H what the .300 WM was to the .300H&H. And while the .300 H&H is a great cartridge, they just arent' that common compared to the .300WM. The hottest selling .375 caliber rifles of the last 2 years have been chambered in .375 Ruger, not H&H, not .378 Weatherby or any of the also rans......
