The NEW KING is taking off!

I'll believe the 375 Ruuger is here to stay when Norinco starts chambering it!

Oh they will. It seems to me that many people are looking at $...there are lots of cheap Rugers out there. That is why it sells. It's kind of like saying that a Corvette accelerates and brakes as well as a 911 and therefore it is the new king of sports cars.

Mauser98 - would you have had a .375 Ruger built if you could have purchased a magnum mauser action for the same price?

Fads come and go, but class will always be desireable. Have you checked into the price of a 75 year old Rigby chambered in .404 Jefferey?

And that is why my 404 Jeffery is on a P14.... :D

But you could have bought a .416 Ruger for less than building your Jeffery, and the brass would cost less too! Plus it would be new, instead of an old clunker P14!;)

If by Magnum Mauser you mean a Brevex or a true over-size Mauser, no, I wouldn't have used the .375 Ruger. Those large actions cry out for a large cartridge such as a .416 Rigby, .404 Jeff, etc. Actually, one built on a .470 MBogo would do quite nicely.

As i said in an earlier post, the .375 Ruger is a nice fit in a standard Mauser 98 action. Using the cartridge in a much larger action wouldn't make sense.

Sheesh, this NEW KING thing again?!:kickInTheNuts:
It seems Gatehouse doesn't want to let everyone forget that Ruger has made a 375...Good for Ruger/Hornady, they created a cartridge that has caused a stir and people are emptying their wallets, YIYAHHH!! Let it go already.

I think the OP needs to find himself a GF...:D;)

'rifle

:agree: and....I sense major INSECURITY.

More feeble attempts at personal attacks....sad, really:kickInTheNuts:

ALL HAIL THE NEW KING!!!:dancingbanana:

Just tells me that most people don't shoot there rifles enough to become proficient with them so they have to compromise and settle for a lesser round like the 375 Ruger... :p

Took this little buck at 35yds. with Factory 270gr. load. Glad I had "The King" with me that day, anything else may have come up short. LOL

Here is a black bear I shot shortly after obtaining the NEW KING. It was probably the first animal taken by a BC resident with the 375 Ruger

Here is a decent blacktail I shot the second to last day of the season

Thanks, I'd FAR rather a classic stock in that - too much drop at the heel for my shoulder. Can feel it already.

I've heard the Classic vs drop comb recoil issue before? I must handle recoil better than some I guess? I find if there is a difference it must be small, because I don't seem to feel it?

I shoot my 338 Gaillard & the 375 H&H (not the one pictured, but it too had a Hunter style stock) with my left hand supporting the bottom rear of the stock like I'd shoot any smaller caliber?

I do wear a heavy vest & hold onto it though ;)

I can do 20 rounds off the bench no problem. If I was shooting more than that I'd probably brake it, but these are hunting rifles & not bench guns. I like to save my ears in the field ;)

Just my .02 cents but I think Ruger needs to make longer .375 Ruger case ( same length as the H&H case)!!!!
WAY MORE CASE CAPACITY!!!

Imagine the possibilities???????

So why not just get a 375HH, there is a reason ruger made it fit a regular long action and obviously from a business point of view they could not have judged it better

Ruger case is beltless so a lengthened 375 Ruger would be a 375RUM oh yeah... :p

There was a gunsmith who, in the mid '80s, "invented" a cartridge virtually identical to the .375 Ruger. I can't for the life of me remember who it was. I thought it was Ryan Breeding, but a quick search showed nothing.
