I cant decide Tavor or XCR ? help

i don't know much about the tavor but the ergonomics of the xcr are great, a bit heavy but very easy to handle and the controls are all very nice for somebody like me with shorter fingers, the trigger is also alot better than i expected

Ergonomics of the Tavor are excellent. Haven't shot the XCR, but I understand the trigger is better (didn't find the trigger on the Tavor as bad as some feel).

can a guy mount a conventional scope to the tavor?

i own an xcr, but have never handled a tavor, but i'm gonna side with the xcr.

a quick change barrel, full length upper rail, side rails, really nice upgraded trigger, simple to disassemble and now that NEA's stock adapter is out i can get proper facial placement:)

Another point on the XCR that seems to have improved dramatically since the XCR release. Some of us early adopters were left out in the cold to find solutions to the rifle ourselves. Some of these fixes seem to have made it into the new production rifles, but no effort has been made to correct the ones already out there, which I think is a mistake on Robarm's part.

When a friend comes to me and says, I want a non restricted 223 semi, they always make a trip to TSE for a Sig. I have shot both the Tavor, and the XCR in a variety of conditions, and if I wanted non-restricted, that I was going to shoot, I'd go with a sig.

i would go with the SIG but i want something that takes AR mags i have a large PMAG and LAR collection you cant have 10 rounds with a SIG

At least I don't need to tells half truths to explain the quality of the Tavor.

As I've said in every other XCR thread, I don't dislike the rifle, I dislike that people try to make it out to be something it's not. It's a decent civilian utility rifle that needs some refining.

Exactly. It didn't even make it to the trials.

I don't like how he was equating just that they submitted it to military trials as being a measure of quality.

you're doing the same thing champ. Equating disqualification because of a technicality as a lack of quality.

All jokes aside, my XCR weighs in at 11 pounds with optic (3X) and bipod (harris) so think about what its going to be used for. (Dodge Ram or BMW 335)

If that is the case, don't discount the H&K SL8 with an AR magwell conversion.

Yeah, that's what it's all about! I love that combination. The SL8 is so easy to clean, it is unbelievable, no gas valves or anything to adjust, plenty of accessories, and as mentioned will take AR mags.

But remember, if you have an HK and an IWI, you must store them separately, or the IWI will turn into an HK shortly. Heck, the only firearms you can store with HKs without fear of spontaneous conversion are Russian, American, Italian or British firearms. Even one USP9 can spontaneously convert a dozen FALs into G3s. You have been warned.

NEA will be launching a new mag well conversion for the SL8 in the next 5 weeks.

I can honestly say that the Tavor is the nicest black rifle I have had the pleasure of shooting. The gun I've been working off has over 25k rounds through it and you would think it was new. They took the best parts of the G36 (sl8), left the negatives and made it into a bullpup. Accuracy is fantastic and the whole system is beautifully simple. Till recently there haven't been a lot of them available in Canada but that is all changing in 2010.

If you can get a Tavor then do it!
