I cant decide Tavor or XCR ? help

The rifle, as it is now, leaves a bit to be desired but that doesn't mean I hate it. I give Robarm a lot of credit for doing what they did, but in the end they were in over their heads.

Completely with you. I don't hate the rifle either, and the fact that Robarm was going against the big names was one of the reasons I tried to support it early on.

There is one tank driver/mechanic that went against all the big names in a much more bureaucratic state and clearly won out against the established names. Sometimes change is good.

I've said it before.. I really want to like the XCR I just don't yet. I'm sure they'll hammer out the issues they have and it'll come around. It's a great concept, but any young company is going to have to root out all the problems and I think they're doing that. It's just not up to snuff for most yet. I for one hope they keep at it and the XCR proves itself.

i had an SL8 and sold it in favour of the XCR. I have also shot several AR's, Colt, Armalite and my favourite the LMT. I chose the XCR because of AR type ergonomics,AK type drive system on it, and I CAN TAKE IT WITH ME WHEREVER I GO. Better fit and feel than the SL8,just as accurate and ZERO problems with function---fed it a multitude of reloads of every kind and it just keeps running. My hat comes off to the people at Robinson Armament.

Note: Alot of those different types of reloads even stopped up a Mini 14

i've stated my case for the xcr while admitting i haven't had the time to put many rounds down range and am now curious as to what the issues with it are?

armedsask, i value your info on cgn, especially when it comes to the ar180b, what may i ask are the xcr's weak points in your experience with the rifle?

I am pretty sure that the discussion here is more along the lines of best most fantastic NR semi, but if the twang of the AR spring bothers you for some reason, it can largely be polished, and lubed away. I have seen it done, but personally don't bother. It happens well after the round is in the air.

Its a Joke intended for greentips... I love AR's I have 3 of them. I dont mind the noise the spring makes. I do prefere have a piston running my rifle.

I can honestly say that the Tavor is the nicest black rifle I have had the pleasure of shooting. The gun I've been working off has over 25k rounds through it and you would think it was new. They took the best parts of the G36 (sl8), left the negatives and made it into a bullpup. Accuracy is fantastic and the whole system is beautifully simple. Till recently there haven't been a lot of them available in Canada but that is all changing in 2010.

If you can get a Tavor then do it!

How accurate is accurate?

i like my xcr, placed second in a service rifle match last year. At the match i had people walk up to me and tell me to my face that it was a bad choice and a POS, i shrugged.

Some people are very rude, sorry to hear about that. Even if it was a POS and a bad choice, keep your negitive BS to yourself.
I personally wouldn't have used the XCR for Tac, not because it's a bad rifle, but because it's ####ING HEAVY!

..I had a bolt guy come up and ask me "What kind of Piece of Sh*T rifle is that??"

It was a SAN PE90... Some people don't have a clue and can only defend what they own and what is inside of their blinders.

Reading the IWI Tavor T.A.R. 21 5.56mm specs on CanadaAmmo and notice they include the following note;
Accepts AR-15 magazine (max 10 rds in Canada)

Haha you should have told him it was an AK and walked away. That would have really spun him out.
