Smith and Wesson M&P 15/22

i have just received some news about my m&p15-22 from my saler at Dante Montreal and he told me that nobody will get any information about this rifle classification before the shot show in Vegas at the end of January... still waiting

I was at my local dealer yesterday.... He has 5 on order from the distributor. I guess I will be cancelling my order with Frontier after all....

My local gun monger has promised that he will match any price I can find on the web (in Canada) for me.... So how can I say no to that! I just may hae to wait a bit longer to get the rifle is all.

Cheers!

Sounds like "dynamite" or is that tnt??? lol

Luckily I have a friend who wouldn't wait for the Canadian market to offer these beauties for sale, he went and imported two and one has my name on it.

He picked them up at the airport this past week. All that's left is to get the verifier in and we're good to go. I should have it by next week. The three extra mags each are on back-order though

Not sure how he did it (the paperwork is brutal and the US Permit costs $250) but I'm forever grateful for his efforts. My first gun purchase, can't wait to get 'er home.

Soze you lucky bastard!!!! Bravo my friend, Bravo!! Keep us posted on any headaches you come accross doing it this way!

Way to go! This just shows us, where there is a will there is always a way.

Post some pictures if you can, when you can!

I hate waiting!!

The really sad thing is...... He will only get his a day or two before the rest of us....

Untill the CFC issues an FRT for a firearm it cannot be sold and the importation will not be completed.

So untill the CFC issues a FRT # for the S&W 15/22, "your buddy" cannot import the firearm.... it will be stuck in customs untill the FRT is released. It is the exact same situation all of the dealers that are pre-selling these firearms. They have the stock in warehouses or in Distributors warehouses, but they cant move them as the CFC has not issued a FRT# for them.

Cheers!

I cancelled my order with Frontier.
I have enough of waiting for now (order was placed in November after I read on their website that the carbine should be shipped sometimes around late November).
I just placed the order for .22 KKW Trainer from Norinco instead :)

Pics or it didn't happen!

hehe I love that saying. LOL. Well done bud. We're still gonna need some pics and a review as soon as possible.

You got it guys. I will definitely post pics but because this is my first rifle and also will be the first gun I've ever fired, I can assure you the review will lack depth and useful insight. It will probably be something like... woooooo! woooooo! this rifle is the best! I love it! Love at first sight is guaranteed

My "buddy" had the goods at his house on Monday when I spoke to him. He is a very meticulous individual with previous experience importing guns from the US. He knows the rules and regulations back to front. Maybe we won't be able to have them verified until the FRT# is issued...I don't have a clue.

I check this thread weekly to see if the rifle is 'good to go' and after I spoke with him I checked in here right away. Nothing new. I thought "this is too good to be true"

I'll call him tomorrow and see what's next
