Closest Kill Shot

Grizzly bear that i shot in the face at about 6-8 feet, because that all the time i had so didn't have time to aim.Taxidermist did a great job with it.That was with my 338mag in 2004 and as far as close shot's goes, that was too close!

-1 cm...

I shot a feeding groundhog, and tagged him in his rear end. He crawled away, but as I approached him, he hissed, "Fzck you, Hungry!" at me. I wanted to put him out of his misery quickly.

So I brought my stainless .223 M70 Win Hvy Varmint barrel closest to him and he bit my barrel

Then I let him have a 69 gr Sierra MKing at 2850 fps as he was chewing on my match barrel.... It was not pretty!

Whitetail doe 250 grain Hornady from my .35 whelen between the eyes, close enough to leave a nasty powder burn.

I have waited a long time to tell my bunny story and I think this thread is as close as I can hope to get.
When I was about twelve my buddy and I were hunting snowshoes in the snow with .22's. I was walking down a rabbit trail when I encountered what turned out to be a vicious bull bunny. I winged him on the run and he charged up the bunny trail coming (as Uncle Jimbo says on South Park) straight for me. I think I got off another shot before he hit me but then he got inside my muzzle distance and really cut loose. He literally climbed up on me kicking and screaming as only a bunny can and I had to drop my little Rem pump into the snow and beat him down with my fists. In the excitement I wound up finishing him off with my feet. Quoth my buddy: "Holy ****!!!"
Lions heck!!
I am 67 now and almost never (maybe Never) shoot bunnyt anymore!

Correction: Actualy the closest was a white tail buck I found while partridge hunting with a 22 during a snow storm. It had been wounded a day or two earlier by someone else. A leg was shot off and it was weak from loss of blood. My 22 stnd velocity bullets did not seem to do anything, so i went to the road and got a tire iron out of the truck and tried to knock its brains out.

He had enough energy to uses his antlers to keep me away from him.

I pulled my knife and tried to jump him, so I could cut his throat. he swung his antlers, hit me, and snagged an antler under my ring. I thought i was going to lose my finger. A deer seems to have powerful neck muscles. He tossed me like a rag.

In the end my knife got him.

We found the 22 bullets stuck under the skin, in the muscle/fat. Not much more than a bee sting to him.

Meat was indedible. Even the dog would not eat it.

About 20' on a small 4 point mule deer.I was walking down a trail on my way to one of my spots, not being very quiet. This deer steps out on the trail in front of me,perfect broadside.Shot him with the 30-06 and he ran towards my truck about 50 yrds before dropping.Had to drag him maybe 30 yrds easiest big game animal I've ever got.

Shot a coyote at about 10-15 feet.He was walking towards me with his teeth bared growling.

This is him

I don't post much but I'm making this my sig.line.

My closest was a deer at about 30',if I'd waited it could've been closer as it was running towards me on the trail.
