I was at the Vancouver Flea market and came across a gypsy looking fellow who had a table set up with old cameras and an 1861 enfield musketoon repro priced at $2000
I pointed out to him quietly that this gun was not an antique and that it was not worth $2000, and he was basically selling a nonrestricted unregistered gun to anyone, (scummy 3rd world looking crowd there)
Now what bothered me most is if somebody bought this under the impression that it was antique they could get in all kinds of trouble, I showed him with my blackberry that it was manufactured by parker hale in the early 1970's.
He said some fool will buy it and started ignoring me.
Apparently he has been selling guns like this for the last four months, repros sold as antiques , him and the gun will be there next weekend.
I hate crooks.

What a scum bag eh?
He yelled at me what the f@ck do you know about guns!!!
He wanted $2500 when i saw it.
He is clueless and in for a very big surprise if he gets caught!!!

I'm pretty sure he is committing fraud. He could face charges now if someone informs the police.

They will probably send an undercover officer to make a buy, then arrest him.

In all reality it's not selling un-registered guns that bugs me.It's trying to rip people off...I HATE scum bags like that.
 
Who does one contact about this? Dirtbags like this shouldn't be out there, and what's worse is we don't know where he's getting this stuff.... being the vanc fleamarket it's probably stolen.
 
So which one of you guys who witnessed this is going to inform the police and get this scumbag off the streets???
 
^^ I think his fate has already been determined after being "outed" on here.

He should probably expect a visit from NWEST next time. :)
 
I think he is a Extra scummy bottom feeder type because its Obvious he knows its a modern gun and selling it as a Antique.

He might just rip off the wrong person one day.
 
I hope one of you report this to the autorities. please post if anyone knows the outcome. As previously mentioned, it's not so much the illegal sale but more the deception. this is no different then scamming an old lady to pay for car repairs she doesn't need.
 
No use complaining about it unless you report him. These guys hurt the hobby. Not turning him in is just as bad. TURN HIM IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
The rifle does come with original sword byonet, that's what makes it semi convincing to the untrained eye
I went there with a friend who seen it the week before and wanted to buy it, I only came along as it sounded like interesting Sunday trip
As soon as I seen the guy tatoos on hands, shifty way of talking I told my friend to hold on.
The guy started showing me "confederate markings" and said this gun was sneaked across union blockade.
It's stamped Parker hale and was built in the early 1970's

I agree.
You have been a witness to an illegal act and must report it to police. This slimeball cannot claim ignorance of the law but that goes both ways. Turn him in!
Sadly, this is just one more nail in the coffin of this passtime/hobbie.

Plenty of guys have un-registered guns, every time I run across one should I call the po?
How about when somebody shows me the switch blade they have had for 30 years?

I get that this fellow is trying to dupe somebody out of their hard earned cash. If you are so stupid that you will drop almost $3000 at the flea market on something that is VERY easy to check out maybe you need to learn a lesson.

I completely agree with the people saying that this needs to be reported to the authorities.

It is our duty to report this kind of criminal (and, most of all, fraudulent) behavior, just as much as it is our duty to preserve the rights of legit firearm owners in this country. You can't have one without the other, because him getting away with it will indirectly stain our own reputations one day.

Rest assured, if this goes on for long enough, the media/Libs will spin this around at some point to make it look like we need more gun control laws, even though the legit Canadian gun owner has nothing to do with such illegal gun smugglers and frauds (who don't give a rat's ass about our laws anyway, so more laws won't help)!

Do your civic duty as a Canadian citizen, taxpayer and as a responsible member of our firearms community... REPORT HIM! Don't let him get away with screwing the rest of us over.

Yeah, ok... so you're willing to let this assh*le sell fake antiques to hard working members of our community? (never mind the laws he's breaking, which also make us ALL look like a bunch of dangerous idiots). Thanks, you're a pal! I'm sure the gangbangaz love you too... another reason for the anti lobby groups to win & screw us even more! (tomorrow's headline on Wendy's website: Firearm owners = morons who can't tell right from wrong. Think of the children!).

I realy dont give a f@ck if he has an un_registered front stuffer!!! In fact I think the registry is usless. If you guys dont understand that the flea market is buyer beware then you've got a lot of learning to do..........

Aha... and I'll bet you anything that your "gypsy king" doesn't have a firearms license either... but whatever. Do whatever you want, but you've just made a strong point for the antis.

As much as I am for more liberties for legit Canadian firearm owners (including CCW), I just can't agree with criminal hardasses being in legal possession of a firearm. This guy definitely qualifies... and gets your support!

Well, first of all I didnt call anyone a gypsy.
Next up I didnt ask to see his pal....So I dont know if he has one.
I manned up and said something to his face. Your all upset because I didnt call the cops like a coward. Things must be very different in quebec.
