I'll stick with the more popular, more established, better extracting cartridge.
Waaaaait a minute, I just checked the data.
From Hodgdon:
.375 H&H 81.5gr H4350, 300gr SP 2645fps
.375 Ruger 80.7gr H4350, 300gr SP 2660fps
How is that the new king?
How is that the new king? The H&H... , better extracting cartridge.

How is that the new king? The H&H has been at it for a century now. Same difference, and in that case, I'll stick with the more popular, more established, better extracting cartridge.
A little less powder, a little more velocity, standard long action, no feeding issues. Do you have a point here
A little less powder - no practical advantage
a little more velocity - no practical advantage
standard long action - no practical advantage
no feeding issues - no advantage because the H&H is one of the slickest feeding rounds anyways.
The point is crystal clear - the Ruger offers no practical advantage to the proven and well established H&H.

Saying it of course, doesn't make it so.

in Hodgdon's data they used 26" barrel on the 375 H&H and 20" on the Ruger. Call Hodgdon and talk to Bertrand
Feeding issues on a 375 H&H?.....That's a new one.
Tapered case makes for very smooth feeding, unlike fat short cases like WSM,SAUM and perhaps 375 Ruger. I do remember some folks having feeding troubles in their new Hawkeye 375's,no?![]()
