well I've been putting this together over the last little while, initially wanting to get into service rifle for the upcoming year, but not wanting to limit myself to a restricted rifle. (I know its less important to some, everyone has priorities)
I havent shot since I was a kid but was happy to find that after sighting it in on the 25 and 50 yard targets, the very first 5 shot group I put out to 100 yards was all within an inch. I managed one more 1" group after a few from 1.5 - 2.5 inches, with 1 - 3 inch group that I new would be off when I fired, but for the first time shooting in 13 years I was pretty happy with my first day back, and with how the xcr performed, now just need a lot more trigger time. I probably put 60-80 rounds through it by the end of my time there.
As with everything, there are compromises. I'm sure I'll need a few more days at the gym to deal with the weight in service conditions, not a big deal. And I'm sure plenty of people will point out that I could have put together a more accurate ar platform for the price, but so far I'm plenty happy with.
The most dangerous thing is how my credit card cringes when I start looking at putting together a handgun/long gun combo now that I had a fun day at the range to start off the year.
