As the Norwegian war didn't last much longer than about 6 weeks, there isn't a lot of army kit around, especially on this side of the Atlantic. So it's taken awhile to gather. But I'm proud of my ancestry and at least they fought as best they could.

All of the clothing, ie. ski cap, tunic, pants and great coat are marked with an IR number (Infantry Regiment).

The rifle, of course, is the M1894 Lang Krag in 6.5X55. And the pistol is also a Kongsberg manufactured M1914 in 11.25mm (45ACP). The bayonet is the short issue to fit the rifle.

I believe the huge flag is naval and has a bunch moth holes, but it appears a period issue as it's linen with a jute rope.

Thought this might be a bit different for a change of pace.

I've got a few period photos showing Norwegian soldiers.

This one appears to be a pic of some "young bucks" just prior to the Nazi invasion.

And here are a couple of news articles showing soldiers out in the field.

That M1914 pistol is so exceedingly rare! Would you happen to have any closeups you would share with us?:)

Nice presentation.
Reminds me of what you see at Akershus Festning Hjemmefront Museum/Resistance Museum.
Koldt, if you ever go to Norway, make sure one of the places to visit is the Akershus Festning to check out the museum. :)

Virtual tour of the museum at the bottom of the page

Absolutely will go there. Thank you very much for the link.

Koldt that's a great collection.

Also I like the museum, sadly I find the virtual part doesn't work well on my computer but the rest of the info is very interesting.

Here ya go:D

There was a very good M1914 for sale here on the EE a couple years ago. I would like to buy it, if the owner wants to sell eventually.
The finish on these pistols was a type of a paint, and not really a blue or parkarizing. So the finish came off fairly easily on these Norwegian 1914s.

The pistol isn't as rare as the M1894 rifle in this original configuration. There are a ton of Krag rifles around, but I haven't seen a lot that haven't been "sporterized". Either this M1894 nor the M1912/16.

Coincidentally...
I saw this one earlier today lol

Serial# 19439 is for sale in Norway right now.

The pistol was produced by Kongsberg Vaapenfabrikk in 1928 and comes with original m1914 colt holster.
The original owner was a member of 2ndre sanitets kompani stationed at Lahaugmoen and the pistol was surrendered to the German forces on 10 april 1940 and later recovered at the end of the war.

Auction ends in 19 hours or so, and so far the bid is up to $600CAD/3200 NOK

Too bad I know jack about importing firearms, otherwise I'd buy it in a hurry and dump it on you Koldt lol

The finish on that one looks good. Too bad someone ground the trigger. Other than that, I would have been interested in bidding. The paint on the grips, etc looks as per it should.

Eastford, any chance you could direct me to the auction please?

Thanks Koldt. That's a wonderful representation. I'm working on the same for a Finnish soldier but I'm sure it won't be as difficult to do as a Norwegian one.

Any more info on the pistol? Never heard of a Kongsberg before.
