They are a solid and reliable gun that is inexpensive
They are not cheap

I did it to my kids 22 russian ...got him to do all of the sanding then I finished with a propane torch . works good then use a nice stain cherry wood .came out nice

The SKS is the big-bore centerfire equivalent of the Ruger 10/22. Everyone ought to have one.
