Both Springfield (except for some high end models) and Taurus are made in Brazil, but not in the same factory. Springfields are made by Imbel.Epps got some Colts in.
They just got their Springfield 1911s in as well. They seem o.k. But don't scream 'Best in Class'...seeing how they are made in the same factory as Taurus (so I hear)![]()
True, so true. The funny thing is, most of these new 1911s are essentially the same gun made in the same factory in the Philippines. Armscor, Tanfoglio, STI Spartan, Iver Johnson, Charles Daly, Rock Island....and I'm sure there's a few others that I can't think of right now.

I still say they gotta ditch the grips for some GI type dark brown plastic ones.
Geez, I wonder if Keyes [GI grip manufacturer] is gonna go back into business with this plethora of GI repro models that are gonna flood the market. Wonder who's got the "rights" to produce Keyes grips?

NAA.
I met with them in the SHOT Show.
I will be the Canadian dealer of their very reasonable priced G.I. brown checkered grips. And I have asked them to work on OD green and desert tan, too. Plus the white they had already made. Those grips look very interesting on various 1911s.
Pictures will be up in a couple of days.

IMO Taurus is the best deal on a 1911 out there (esp stainless model). Forged frame, slide and barrel plus all the add ons.GI is alright, but if you can have all the extras for the same price I'm sure most people would gladly go for it![]()
We've been watching for it for a while. They are still difficult to find in stock. But yeah, I'm sure we'll have some eventually. No ETA.
Any updates on ETA or maybe an idea on price ?
