After a long delay by CBSA seizing my shipment last March 2009, and testing by the RCMP forensic section my shipment was released and is now available for purchase, since these were acquired last year when AAC was still on its own, it is unlikely that anymore while be available in the future, the units are available in black and tan & include the proprietary mount and replica silencer with all the factory markings, these are designed for display and conversation and are machined from solid aluminum.

Can't see any bore in the top pic. :( Do the replicas have the ratchet locking?

If these are solid what did they have to go through inspection for?

The ratchet spring is in place and requires it to be lifted to be removed, as for the inspection I will reserve comments on how silly the whole process was.

Fake Suppressors for $375.00, must be made from Gold..oh yeah you get a $50.00 flash hider with it. PT Barnum was right I guess.
Thats what I was thinkin' Questar had fake cans of decent quality for 70 bucks, I can think of far better things to spend 400 bucks on, waaay over priced for a novelty IMO... Me thinks you're guna have these instock for a while...

re

Am I to understand that these are "solid" aluminum, as in not bored out for a bullet to pass through? Or is the silencer machined from solid aluminum, which makes more sense?

The fake suppressors can be bored out and still be legal...B&T make a dummy for the TP9 and they are sold in Canada. These resemble the Rotex can in exact detail except for the fact they do no suppress sound as well as the real deal.

If these AA dummies are bored out then they are well worth the money as long as the weapon can be fired with it attached.

The TP-9 Suppressors are solid!!!!!!!!

You cant shoot through them either...... I'm pretty sure when they tested them, they changed the output of the firearm by half a decibel:eek::eek::eek::eek:: So it made them more evil than devil S**T.....

If you could shoot through them, I would by one in a second.... or if not, I'm sure that, in theory that is, any one of our fellow nutters with half an hour, again in theory, and an ounce of mechanical abilty could put a hole in one...... again, strickly in theory...;)

Why is it people insist on posting such obvious BS? Unless you have some actual information to add to the discussion why not just keep quiet?

The questions your post begs answering are:

Who tested them?

What equipment did they use?

You of course know that gunshots can vary by up to several dB? Thus the claim of a half dB reduction is completely irrelevant?

1 dB is the minimum change in a sound that the average human can detect. Thus it would be impossible for a person to hear a half dB sound difference.

If these AA dummies are bored out then they are well worth the money as long as the weapon can be fired with it attached.

It is a solid lump of aluminum with a hole drilled in it. That makes it worth about $30. Add a few bucks for the annodizing. How does that translate to $375 being "well worth the money?"
