Long story...
The barrel was made by trained monkeys at CZ Hermex and the headspace was out to lunch.
I bought it off the EE and it worked when test fired a few times (it was winter). It wasn't until summer that I got around to buying a big box of ammo and was spending more time at the range with it. I noticed right away that it had a few too many FTE for a rifle with such a good reputation.
I was very late in diagnosing any real problems because everyone I asked kept telling me "you are not cleaning it right, it comes with a chamber brush for a reason". More bad advice came from the local gunsmith who said "it was probably a lacquer buildup from the surplus ammo". The symptoms seemed to match what other people experience with a dirty chamber.
The first gunsmith I took it too did a lead cast and noted "the chamber was roughly cut". He suggested getting the chamber recut, but he had no 7.62 gauge or reamer to do so.
I then sent it to a very reputable gunsmith (who I should have sent it to from the start) and he quickly found the problem. The gauge showed a definite "NO GO". The barrel was worthless and could not be recut. The rifle should have never left the factory and never have been re-sold on EE. Sadly too much time has passed to do anything about it.
I still love the rifle and want to see it working properly one day.
