Used batteries and stack of pennies as shotgun slugs ?

I think you may be shocked by the performance of batteries out of a shotgun.

As this is my first post on CGN, I felt it was importance to place it in this thread.

Maybe his desire to try this project ran out of juice!

That's B.S

It's his obligation, no his PATRIOTIC DUTY to carry out this experiment. Film it from beginning to end with a decent camera. And then throw that dirty bastard of a video up on Youtube so we can watch. Life and limb are expendable.

You can grow new arms and legs but how can you be sure you will always have batteries around?!!!

Do it man. Do it.

Back in the 1980's when gm v8 engines used to eat camshafts, a buddy fantisized about about making a paper patch smoothbore to shoot used lifters. Of course we were young and did not have the where with all to pull it off. Those would have been quite effective at short range.

I'll have to say this is the most entertaining thread that I have read in a long time and great sig worthy material. I wonder if the OP is on:onCrack: If so, that may explain a few things.

Maybe his camera batteries are dead?:yingyang:

I once loaded up $1.80 in dimes over a cut down shot cup with a light load of Clays to see what it would do out of my 12. The pattern was about 5 ft wide at 10m. My old Winchester was none the worse for the wear.

this site should be renamed
Canadian NUTZ just for this thread...leave the GUN out
this is some funniest stuff i read in a long time and it all started cause some idiotic question from a guy shouldn't have a gun. batteries and coins in a shotgun?
whats next? crack cocaine? we could make all downtown happy and have fun at the same time. it would be called shoot them up reality show.no needles required...

wow, 20 pages as of this posting so far, :) :)

now im not much into reloading, but i found a AA battery wont fit in a 2 3/4" or a 3" case without a possibly having a sabot or some other way to hold the battery centered and not to mentioned about crimping the hull. but it will stick out a ways in order to get powder and a wad in.:confused:

also i happened to look at the maglite 2D flashlight in the shop wile looking for a emptie 12ga. hull and thought, if one was so inclined/desperate/curious(stupid).. u might be able to use a D battery with a sabot in one of tho 37mm launchers that are out there, instead. but the weight would be a little too heavy i would think..:confused::confused:

:D:D:D:D

If the AA and AAA are too long then try the shorter battery that you find in bark control collars! You might even be able to fit 2 in and crimp the end of the shell.:dancingbanana:

" Best buck thirty I ever spent " billey the kid
That is old stuff , did you ever drop 3 lead 30/30 (.308) bullets 170 grain into a 12 gauge shot cup and launch for a long range load .
OR a JUNK YARD load of finishing nails surrounding broken windshield glass and wheel weights cut into triangle shape.
OH never mind you guys would not understand .

If you used finishing nails, woudlnt' that be thought of as "fletchettes" and be illegal?:D
