k98 trade for rem 770 308

.308, that's good. Many 710s and 770s work well enough, but they do have a rather high rate of defects reported for a rifle from a such a well-established maker as Remington. For the money, there are a few options that are distinctly better, and your 770 is very unlikely to hold its value.

However beaten up your K98 was, I personally would have kept it. Hope you end up more pleased with this trade than I would have been in your place.
