Its not always so clear.
I bought a Daniel Defense PAK flashlight mount from Brownells, and a Magpul AFG.
the AFG was considered a "gun part" and listed as such, however the Daniel Defense PAK was not, and the overall order was 120 bucks or so, and it got through with full declaration.
I have also checked into some scope accessories, like the Tactical Night Vision Company "SAP" or whatever it is called. Its a little 30mm scope ring with a picatinny rail built-in, to put secondary optics on.
These did not have the "gun parts" notification either.
I think the deal goes, if its an accessory for a SCOPE, then its not considered a gun part. If its a gun accessory by itself, (like buttstock, pistol grip, railed forend) then its going to be tagged.
You could TRY and say its an airsoft scope mount, and even print off an ad for a fake LaRue on some airsoft site, and take it with you.... Bad Juju if they find out tho.
Personally, dont bother with LaRue and go with American Defense. They are a good company that not only ships and services Canadians, but actually care about us, as well as other international sales!
Arms East carries them, they are very VERY well made mounts!
