Okay - a little introduction. I'm super-nooby. I put my PAL paperwork in over a month ago and am anxiously awaiting 'thier' approval.
For quite some time I was running flat into the RobArms XCR camp.
I then saw the Troy Industries M14 kits.
I shot a M14 once, at a range day.
I like it, it's bigger, a heavier round, can be used for both 'reaching out' and closer 'reaction' drills.
I'm partial to the Troy Industries MCS stock.
As I understand it, this is the difference between the M14 systems available to us, the Canadian civillians.
M14 is prohibited.
M14s and M305 are china-clones, semi auto and unrestricted, am I correct in saying this?
That said, I've been unable to find much info on my preferred M14 choice, the SOCOM - is this unrestricted in Canada? If so, where is it available?
If it is NOT unrestricted (Can't seem to find any info on barrel length), will the china-clone M14's fit into the MCS stock system just fine?
Another question, What the hell is the difference between .308 and 7.62x51?!
These are all questions I've been unable to find help with through searching or google.
Thanks for your help CGN.
