Ok so the M305 Norinco is a chinese knock off of the M14 that gets a lot of attention in the Battle Rifles forum. This new PPS 50 from Marstar is a PPSH 41 repro in .22lr, can it live here?

I seriously cannot believe that one day soon, I will be holding one of these. I predict that after we all run out and buy .22lr models that they'll launch a 9mm version!

EDIT: I'll buy one of those too!

I just scoured the marstar site and I could not find this gun. This is perfect for my girlfriend. Where did you hear marstar has these, and how many rubles?

I don't think they're in yet, check out the Marstar threads in the dealers section. I'd put this thread in the rimfire section, it's not really a milsurp.

If I had to decide whether to make a PPsH repro in 7.62x25 or 9mm I'd choose 9mm, just like the Chinese did with the m213 Tokarev clone, and I thank them for it.

I can sort of understand why you'd make a clone gun in .22lr, you're trying to attract a wider audience so you can sell more units. It's just like how the movie companies now make sure they can make the goriest gruesome expletive filled flicks they can under the PG17 or PG13 ratings so that they're not turning away teenagers at the box office.

I'll definitely shed some of my less desirable guns to free up space and cash for a PPS 50. I'm starting to think that this is a rimfire rifle so it'll probably end up in the rimfire section :( but it's a baby eater in spirit :D

Pietta (Italy) has been producing these rifles for a while. Ruko imported them. Ruko also imported the Squires Bingham (Phillipines) rifle which was just the standard Model 20 .22 with a shorter barrel and ventilated shroud. i.e. nothing special.
Do not confuse these rifles.
Why they are called the PPS-50 is beyond me. If anything, they vaguely resemble the Soviet PPD 34. Forget any PPSh resemblance.
These Piettas are nicely made, well finished little rifles - at least the earlier ones were, and I see no reason to expect that this would have changed.
While the mechanism has some design similarity to the Armalite .22, these are original rifles, not just something that a MK played Barbie with.
The drums are well made.
Once these are in stock, they are going to sell well.
