P&D has a real nice 2 barrel trap set that looks unfired to me leather case, monte carlo stock, a beauty, and the best part is it is priced at $1599.00.
Sounds cheap to me. FS

FS, the asking price for the Zoli combo is probably about right. It's most likely the Model Z-90 by Antonio Zoli which was discontinued in the early 90's.

FWIW, there is more than one Zoli most commonly encountered -- Angelo and Antonio. Both of them made lower-end shotguns and rifles although IMO Antonio Zoli made slightly better guns.

The Z-90 is a different design than the current Zoli o/u which are marketed as higher end guns to compete with the Blaser, Beretta DT10 and Perazzi.

Why? Their Auto's are great but their O/U's are so so.

Would like to know why Beretta O/U's are only so so. Have only a bit of experience with them. But thinking of buying one and it looks and feels very good. They have a good rep too, from what I've been reading.

You'll have to excuse Struff55....if it's not a model 12 he gets cranky, yet i offered him a unique one at a good price and he didn't bite, so he's cagey too.

There is quite a difference between 10's and 100's a far as gun durability. FS

The point being all guns will break. No matter what the make or model it is only a matter of time. When that happens you had best have a plan to get your gun fixed. If you have a gun that does not have parts readily available then you may have to go for extended period of time w/o a gun.

Personally I have a very low threshold for the amount of time I can be w/o my gun. If it is more than a week it may cause some serious (to me) problems.

That said, I have no idea the status of the Zoli with respect to availability of parts or repair.

Brad.

I have shot tens of thousands of rounds and never broke a shotgun. FS

You must be a lucky guy then faststeel. I had a Rem 1100 tournament trap years ago that I ended up dropping of at the Remington Booth in vandalia Ohio at the Grand for a repair issue, wouldnt cycle doubles! They ended up rebuilding the entire gun from end to end except for the trigger assembly, I replaced that with a Timney. I had a poli-gardone o/u that broke first day out in the duck blind, pull the trigger and both barrels would fire together after about 6 shots had been run through it. My model 12 is on its 3rd firing pin! I had an 870 break a firing pin in the blind shooting at geese one morning. I had an 1187 rem split the forend right in half lengthwise 3 rd shot out of the gun! I've had a custom built Mauser in 308 Norma Mag that started firing when you closed the bolt handle! And a few others I cant recall off the top of my head, I could understand If i was hard on my guns or if I was the type who tinkered with them but aside from the 1100 with the Timney trigger and the Mauser I have never had customed or tweeked firearms. I shoot factory and thats that as well I do not reload ammo! Go figure....Truth be told my best gun to date has been my Win 101 Ducks Unlimited 50th Model, I must have 30,000 - 40,000 rounds through it on the skeet field and at minimum 5000 in the duck blind with it and it just keeps going, never an issue!

Anyways If I were looking at that Zoli, I would be questioning could I get parts if need be? Also, how much shooting can it take? Is it built for the long run or am I just going to shoot casually with it? I remember when they first appeard in the early 80's. Nice looking guns if looks count but my memeory tells me they were about the same quality/finish as a Franchi O/U. Decent but not really tops for sure. But it's not for me so If the fellow whose looking at it wants and likes it, I say go for it. What else you going to get in a combo for $1500??? Oh! Except maybe one of them ugly old SKB's! :nest:

Spank

If I'm at the lucky end you are at the unlucky end.
My first 3 shotguns were A5's 2 12's and a 20.
My next 2 were Win SX1's
My first sporting clays gun was a fixed choke mid 70's Citori.
Next came a Tekny's 12 and 20 gauges.
Then the Beretta extrema II, a hunting piece that I use for sporting clays. FS

I think you got that backwards, lol!! Theyre O/U's are good , its their autos that suck!

LOL, to each their own. I like both the O/Us (there are a few exceptions) and Autos from Beretta. If I was to pick up another auto, chances are very high it would be a Beretta.
