As Justin1628 says, an 870 with the 18.5" barrel and pistol grip is a very short gun already and I doubt you would notice the extra 4.5" over the 14". Plus, the longer barrel lets you get an extra round in the mag.

It's about 1/4" too short with a 14" barrel and a witness protection grip on the 870....this one makes it though,

If you have a Norinco receiver you could get a 15" barrel for it then you'd be good with the speedfeed...
Those short barrels get pretty loud in a hurry. I understand the want of something lightweight though.
I wonder if the SPL goes up exponentially with every inch one takes off. It sure sounds like it.
The balance is way nicer with a shorter barrel.
I think with the sling plate you could get by, but you do present a good angle, Norinco factory 15" barrel/ reciever combo. Any options on where to get said Norinco components?
is that with, or without measuring the sling stud at the back of the grip?

one thing that always worries me about the Knoxx stocks is the fact that they telescope an inch or so under recoil: i would not be surprised if there are cops out there that would compress the stock an inch just to get a measurement thats under OAL....then youd be #%@$ed, to put it mildly.
