Knoxx / Blackhawk! SpecOps Stock for 870s

Where's the best place to get the Knoxx stocks from? S&J is out of stock. Can you use a S&J single point sling-mount with the Knoxx or does it move it back too far?
Kim

This is where I bought mine...

Very quick delivery.

I like the adjustable length of pull for using the gun in different seasons, with bulky jackets or light shirts.

The fact that it softens the recoil of sabot slugs is a definite plus, too!
I wonder if I am getting soft?

That is so cute

It gives me a good incentive to have mine redone in Canada red

I tried it and found that it moved the stock back too far, leaving a gap behind the trigger guard -- that could well pinch your finger! That being said, Simon may have a solution for that.

That's what I guessed when I saw the pics. Ordered one this evening for my soon to arrive norinco HP9-1 14":D:D:D Is there a spot to attach a single point on the stock?

Would you please show a better pic of the porting? I was thinking of doing something like that to my gun. Purple, I love purple. Is it Arma-Coat or what?
Kim

Thanks geologist, I saw some pics and posts you made on a yankee site regarding this gun and it showed your light mount. Did turning it around stop the finger pinching? Is the front sight silver soldered with the rear screwed on or what? Who did you get to do the install if SS'ed on? Did you have to refinish the barrel? Are they tritium ones and if so how bright are they at night? How is the light standing up to the recoil? I can't decide between ghost rings or a really bright fiber optic front bead, TruGlo or somesuch.

Originally I had an M3 light in a Streamlight ring mount. Turning the mount around did solve the finger pinching. Eventually the ring mount broke. I nutted up and bought the Surefire. !00% reliable.

The front sight is epoxied on with the glue that Wilson includes with the kit. The rear sight was drilled and tapped by CGN member/gunsmith Rusty Woods. He did a great job. Only the front blade is tritium but it is only moderately bright. It's sufficiently visible to do the job in low/zero light, much better than a white cloth tied to the end of your barrel.

The Surefire light has held up fine to recoil though at the range I remove it and plug it. Why beat the crap out of the filament if it is not necessary?

filament? pfft... why not mod the light to LED?
those Surefire forends are a standard P60 host. for ~$10 you could order a drop-in R2 LED lamp assembly and have better regulated light output, durability and battery life. you could even get a red one for preserving your night vision.

also, an interesting factoid: red does not spook animals as much either -- a bowhunter aquaintance stateside uses a red LED flashlight mounted to his stabilizer for nighttime hog hunting and can shine it directly at the hogs from his stand and they dont even react to it.
:D

Thanks OldRanger. Did you feel it helped? Do you get any spray from the barrel porting, short barrel and all? What's it look like firing it at night, must be cool!!!!!!!

geologist, nice light! I'm thinking I'm going with a TacStar sidesaddle light holder but I don't know what light yet. I like the idea of lighting up my front sight and this one would do that. I'm still on the fence as to what type of sights I need but those Wilsons do look nice. Mainly it is going to be my nighttime dog walking gun for short range bear and cougar protection and general blasting toy replacing my combatized 11-87 in those roles.

When compaired to firing a 12" double barrel, yes, porting helps.
No spray that was noticed. I'm thinking of porting some others as well:cool:

If a Gremlin shows up at 3am with a verifiable threat to life or limb,
he probably won't be able to describe how cool it looked:p

Pity I can't find anything like that for my 1187 (albeit I haven't looked much). I decided to spice up my stock by spray painting it tan. It doesn't look bad, but I think I might add black tiger stripes to it just for the added effect

Nothing like it made for an 11-87 as far as I know. The recoil spring runs way back in the autoloader stock and it is at the wrong angle for the tube and would make the collapsible feature not work very well as I understand it. That's why I just got the HP9-1:D and am leaving the 11-87 in the safe.
