Location of 2010 IPSC Canada Nationals

Hmmmm... that's not how I remember it.

I was up against Manny Bragg. He leaned into me and said "We do it straight up, right?" Just before we started. Had he not - I was going to sit there and knock his dueling plates back as best I could. It's not like I had a chance of actually beating him on a shoot off, anyway.

Ever see the automated Shoot-off setup at Universal Shooting Academy where Manny teaches?
Not only is he a top ranked GM, he's a demon on Steel.

I dunno...I remember never even thinking of shooting the other guys plates, and I do remember complaining about the use of the dueling tree. Maybe I'm just getting old and senile.

yay, I got the days off during the week, so no missing it this year!

working on bringing a couple top shooters up out of the USA for this match, and to teach a course just prior to, or just after. Most likely geared toward PD shooters, but will be open to all.

Oooh a course...:) this is better than wondering around like as a tourist!

I would be very interested in this...
(The course I mean not wandering...)

Think you will actually be able to make it this year? I know you were looking forward to driving to last years Nationals but had to pass on it. Will you plan to drive to this one as well, my ammo hauling buddy?;)

If we don't have significant flooding I'm a yes. If we have flooding it depends how many holidays I have to use...
If I go I will haul - my mileage will suffer with all the extra weight...lol. There is at least one other local driving down from what I hear too.

Well if the motorcycle boys go again, you may be able to make a few bucks with a small hauling fee. I'd pay so as not to have to ship or fly with it. You know how well that worked for me last year.

Sean is right. You could actually shoot the opponents plates back but many chose either not to do it (as the other guy was way faster anyway) or maybe it got lost in translation. I was way up front during the briefing as a spectator and had videotaped a few of the matches.

ok a few possibilities right now for shooting courses. Henning Walgren for an Open div course (he would also accept Standard or Production people), Angus Hobdel (maybe) for a PD/Standard div course, and if not Angus, maybe, just maybe, Adam Tyc for a course for PD/Standard. Everything is up in the air right now. The courses would be at my club, Abby fish and game, the weekend/week prior to the match. Shipping of ammo, or pre-purchase of ammo will be made available as well. The pre-purchase will likely only be for 9mm and will be either factory or commercial reloads. More info once I get the above named people confirmed for attendance to the match. I'd like to have it all in place before I head to Europe for the matches this spring/summer.

Are you thinking a 2 day course? The mon and tue before registration? I would be interested in a Production course!

That's what I'm thinking or maybe the saturday sunday even. But mon tues more likely.

After the match might be better. Jim and I did Eric's course right before the Fl. Open one year and we were too sore and too inexperienced in the new techniques to implement them well at the match. When we tried, it generally backfired.

I'll check into the idea of doing one after the match, but most people seem to like the idea of doing one before, as a cleanup and tweak. But I know where you're coming from Sean.

I can agree to that.
After taking all 3 classes in Sept. 2008, I did not know what to do at the Provincials. Old progaming Vs New progaming in my head and I was sore as well. I wish I was able to have 2 or 3 months of training after the classes, then shoot a big match.
